Ca' Frari
What's great about Ca' Frari? First and foremost, its location! Situated right in front of the gorgeous Chiesa dei Frari, this is a part of Venice that's difficult not to love-- super-central but nonetheless a bit off the beaten track, you'll be pretty much anywhere you'd want to go in 15 minutes.

In the immediate surroundings, you have great cafes, bookshops, a supermarket, and the whole area of the neighborhoods San Polo/Santa Croce is famous for its food. Within a minute you'll be on the square in front of the church and from there you can take a stroll along the canal, to just take in the beauty of this city and let the sun shine on your face, or walk to one of the many interesting eateries of this town.

The apartment itself is situated on the ground floor and accessed from a quiet courtyard. Furnished quite simply and rather basic, it's composed of a large entrance area with 2 double sofabeds and kitchen/eating area, one bedroom, and a bathroom (entry is from the bedroom); there is enough room for a couple, a family, or a group of friends.

Davide, the owner, lives just around the corner and is determined to make your stay at Ca' Frari a pleasant one. He's Venetian-born and very proud of his city.

Reviews
Grace on Apr 2017:

This apartment was absolutely beautiful. Everything was clean, and there was plenty of space for 2 people to spread out and relax. We really enjoyed being able to sit down and eat breakfast in the kitchen in the morning, and Davide was kind enough to leave us things like milk and coffee so we did not have to go out and buy anything. Davide was very kind and had lots of tips/suggestions of where we should go in Venice.
The only issue we had was with the wifi. A couple of times it would disconnect. Other than that, though, everything was perfect, and I would definitely recommend this place!
Gerry on Jun 2014:

Location, space, able to do own breakfast and lunch. It is close enough to things that we could go back in the early afternoon for a rest before going out for the evening.
Not really anything. Safe did not work when we were there but that is only thing.
Service worked very well. Have suggested site to others.
Lauren on Mar 2014:

The apartment is big (we were a couple but it accommodates a family), clean, comfortable, and very centrally located, about equidistant from St. Mark's Square and the bus and train stations. Davide was very friendly and helpful. He met us at the nearest landmark (Frari church) since the apartment is tucked away in a side street nearby, gave us a map and showed us the paths to some sights and the nearest supermarket, provided milk and pastries as well as plenty of dishes and utensils for cooking, and the apartment had guidebooks and other info on local sights in multiple languages.
Really helped narrow down my search for self-catering apartments.
David on May 2013:
Davide was great, flexible, and helpful. The location was about as good as it gets! The kitchen was totally functional, and the rooms were cutely decorated. We had everything we needed, plus coffee!
Ellen on May 2013:

This apartment is very centrally located in Venice. A reasonable walk from the train station and areas of interest. The apartment was very comfortable for two people or a family of four. There is a very nice kitchen and a supermarket near by, so we saved money by cooking our own Italian meals, fresh bread, cheese and pasta as well as salad ingredients. Espresso and pastries are provided for breakfasts. The towels provided are ample, there's free wi-fi, and a nice wall TV. The price is reasonable compared to the cost of hotel rooms.
It would be nice to have some dish towels and pot holders .
Working with Cross-Pollinate was easy. I really liked the fact that staff had personally vetted all of the spaces they list. The booking was easy. Within two days I had my reservation confirmed. The staff was quite responsive to any questions I had. I would not hesitate to recommend Cross-Pollinate to anyone traveling in the the areas they service, especially Italy.
