Colosseum B&B, which was just renovated in January 2012, occupies the ground floor of a very small, typically Roman apartment building just up the street from the Colosseum. The B&B has 3 rooms, each with private ensuite bathroom. The rooms are decorated traditionally with chandeliers, wooden furniture, and heavy tapestries. Rooms are usually rented as doubles, and two have bunk beds so that they can be rented also as triples or quads when needed. These triple and quad rooms are best suited to a family. There is a common refrigerator that guests can use to store food, though cooking is not permitted. Breakfast is included in the price but is not served in the B&B. It's offered in a cafè just a few steps from the B&B and consists of a cup of coffee or a cappuccino or tea, and croissant, juice, and toasted bread with jam and butter. The owners, husband and wife Daniela and Walter, run the B&B with the help of their assistant, Beza, and one of them can always be found around during the day to greet guests, answer questions, and give directions. The B&B is located on a quaint street with a view of the Colosseum and just behind Basilica San Clemente, a 12th-century church built over the ruins of an ancient temple. It is also a quick walk to San Giovanni, Circus Maximus, and most of the tourist sights in historic center.
