Mok' House B&B (Vespa)
The name Mok'House come from the Italian stovetop espresso maker called a Moka. The owners feel it is a symbol of true Italian hospitality - it's the tool used by everyone household to make their guests feel welcomed, offering a good Italian espresso!

The moka also reflects the genius and beauty of Italian design. Combined with the Fiat 500 car and the iconic Vespa scooter, you get the name of the B&B and the themes of their rooms.

The 500 room has an ensuite, private bathroom and shower and a large bed with the open of a third bed added. The Vespa room has a dedicated, private bathroom located across the hall, and can have 2 single beds or can be made up as a large double.

Both rooms have private balconies and both have access to the amazing communal terrace - something always sought after in the center of Rome.

In the entrance, there is a fridge and an espresso machine at guest's disposal 24hrs a day. Also, the B&B has only 2 rooms and its own private entrance to guarantee all the privacy and safety needed.

The breakfast is served at the nice café just 50m from the apt. and it includes 1 coffee/cappuccino/tea, 1 pastry and 1 fruit juice. You can have it at any time and comfortably sitting at the table.

The only "uncomfortable" thing of the B&B is that it is at the 4th floor with no elevator, but the steps are small and, of course, the owners will help you with luggage when you arrive. Unfortunately, this is a sacrifice one has to make if you want to be in an historic building in the center and not be on the ground floor.

About the location:

Monti is in the heart of the city, in a very nice and characteristic area located close to Termini station and all the public transportation options that pass through, or it's a short walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

The area is full of artisan shops, nice cafés, great restaurants, pizzerias and famous gelato places, bakeries and pastries. There's Panella and Roscioli bakery, that are a must, as well as one of our favorite trattorie in the city - Trattoria Monti.

It is probably the most authentic area in Rome's downtown as it keeps its real Roman atmosphere while being a tourist attraction.

The Mok'house was a perfect place to stay for us during our 4 day trip to Rome. The room (Vespa) was nicely decorated and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We liked especially + the location in walking distance to the major tourist sights and the metro + the rooftop terrace to relax from the tourist program + the shared fridge next to our room for keeping our drinks chilled + the breakfast place around the corner + the staff's recommendations for dining and other activities We are looking forward to come back.

We found the Mok'house to be in an ideal location. The room was very comfortable and the staff full of good ideas and hints.
The only downside is the stairs. The Vespa Room is on the 4th floor and may be a problem for some people.

We stayed at Mok'House for 3 nights and took over all the facilities as we were a large family group. Marco and Claudia were superb. From the time we enquired about the availability right until we left yesterday, they were charming and communicative. The facilities were exactly what one would want when staying in Rome - bright, clean, central, and spacious. The Terrace at the top of the house was a huge plus for us. Claudia gave us a warm welcome on arrival and regaled us with places to eat and drink over a complimentary welcome drink.

Great location, extremely helpful staff, nice room, delicious breakfast - that's the shortest description :) I was amazed with my stay in Mok House and if I ever come back to Rome, I will choose this place for sure!

Everything was ideal for me here. Accommodation was very clean. All staff were friendly and helpful. Location was ideal for me - handy for Via Cavour, Colosseum, Termini. Roof top terrace is an added bonus. There is no lift so I would not recommend for anyone who has difficulty with 4 or 5 flights of stairs but for anyone else...
