Appartamento Rovere Blu
Appartamento Rovere Blu is located on the first floor of a small 16th-century building in Piazza della Rovere, a top location between St. Peter's, Trastevere and the beautiful street Via Giulia. It's really just a few steps from the Vatican, and conveniently within walking distance from many of the famous tourist sights of Rome. It's also well-connected by public transport. Just outside the 'traffic limited zone', it can be reached by car.

The first thing you'll notice upon entering the apartment is the nice view on the Lungotevere, lined with trees, and the Tiber river behind them. Depending on the season and the 'leafiness' of those trees you might get a full view of Castel St. Angelo.

The apartment consists of a large and bright living room (with those two gorgeous windows!), with sofabed and a kitchenette (electric stove, fridge, and dishes for cooking, as well as a nice seating/eating area), a quiet bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a bathroom with shower (no tub). The apartment has been recently restructured, with exposed wood ceiling beams and terracotta floors, allowing it to maintain its traditional Roman aspect typical of the residences in historic center, and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The owner is also a passionate environmentalist and has recycled many of her family's vintage furniture pieces, giving it a nice and personal touch.

The apartment is equipped with air-conditioning, independent heating, satellite TV, stereo, washer, hair dryer, and iron with ironing board.

Please note: a group of five is only possible if the fifth person is a child, as the fifth bed is very small and the apartment is not big enough for a group of five adults.

For larger groups: there is another very similar apartment next door, Rovere Brown (owned by the same person), which can sleep up to 6 people.

Reviews
John on Nov 2012:

Quite a reasonable price for central gaff. Proximity to the Vatican handy and nice walk to nearby Trastevere. Well stocked kitchen for pots and pans. Light main room despite no real view.
Place look better online than in reality. A bit sterile and could be so much nicer without spending a lot of money. As a wine drinker, nice, even just matching glasses would be good. Simple rug on floor would up the comfort feel quite a bit. Guy in expensive nearby mini-market could do with some people skills - better to buy stuff while you are out.
Think I might have been expecting too much. All went OK loot wise etc but thought had found kindred spirits and was already looking forward to other cities but am now having second thoughts. All sounded a lot more than it seemed in the end.

Location Local shop and restaurants Feel of the apartment Super warm really quickly
Not sure if possible to improve sound insulation - ok at night - main problem from rush hour traffic and ambulances going into nearby hospital! Maybe curtains or blinds for the person sleeping on the sofa bed
Yet again really friendly and helpful welcome - thanks - hope to be back again before too long :)
