San Lorenzo Apartment
Great place, great neighborhood and great owner.

This beautiful apartment is located in the heart of the old and characteristic San Lorenzo quarter, close to Termini Station, the University "La Sapienza" and the San Lorenzo Basilica. The district, which is very lively and has a strong cultural identity, is full of interesting shops and eateries like handicraft and vintage clothes shops, bookshop-cafes, pubs, wine bars, restaurants, trattorias and pizzerias. It is a quiet and safe neighborhood, in the evening becoming a crowded meeting place - a bit on the alternative side. The apartment is situated on the top floor, with elevator, of a beautiful, newly restored 19th century building in Piazza dei Sanniti. It gets loads of light and looks out over the piazza, where there's a green grocer on the corner. It is made up of three spacious bedrooms, two of which overlook Piazza dei Sanniti, one with a small balcony. The modern interior design combines elegance and functionality; each room, with different colors, has its own personality. There are two bathrooms with shower (no tub). The kitchen and the dining area are well-designed and furnished with every appliance required for a pleasant stay, including washer, dishwasher, fridge with freezer, and electric kettle. The apartment has air-conditioning in every room, LCD TV, satellite decoder, DVD/DivX player, portable stereo, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board.

The owner, Gabriele, is well informed and thorough, providing a google map of the area with all his recommendations. Very professionally designed and maintained.

Terrific apartment! Huge bedrooms and nice functional kitchen with all utencils and things necessary for cooking like an oven and cooktop (and dishwasher). Lift makes access easy. The area was nice as it was affordable and not too busy with a cute but extensive supermarket round the corner, fruit shop and cafe/ice cream shop right next door. Nice vibe from university students nearby. Easy to access public transport 200m to Bus or Tram (Metro maybe 700m). Francesca was lovely and gave us heaps of info about restaurants and Rome and the apartment. -Anything we asked including taking phone calls while we were lost trying to find somewhere to eat! Also she organised a shuttle from the airport which was cheaper than a taxi or the train (as we are 5) and then again when we left to the car leasing centre near the airport. We had a ball in this apartment. :)
Not much! One of the toilets was a little lacking in flush power.
The apartment was obviously checked out and approved properly by Cross-Pollinate as is was great, spacious, homely and everything functioned very well. Booking it was easy and quick.

The bedrooms were spacious which compensated for the living space. Kitchen was very adequate, bathrooms despite small shower space were good.
Indication on website of the range of taxi fare from Termini to avoid overcharging.
Excellent site glad I came across it and have recommended it.

Quiet and well maintained.
No available map of the city, got taken by previous guests and not replaced. No directions on subtle things with access to transportations on weekends. No shower soap available, just leftovers from previous guests, no idea where to find trash bags to replace, no paper towels.
Helpful and accomodating.
Admin on 21. Jun 2017:
The owner reported that there were indeed maps but that she perhaps didn't see them. There were packages or soaps together with shower caps next to the sink and that he'd shown her what had been left behind by other guests so she knew where she could leave behind anything of theirs for future guests - but that perhaps she didn't see them. Trash bags were under the sink in the kitchen as well as paper towels in the pantry. Apparently the check in lasted about an hour, with lots of detailed explanations about public transport and where to do the shopping locally so he's confused as to what was possibly left out in terms of directions that were of interest to her.

This is a great apartment. Very clean, spacious and roomy with all the comforts of home. Good air conditioning and we needed it because Rome gets really hot! Gabriele (the owner) was very helpful and informative and even showed us how to make Italian coffee. Highly recommend.
Cross-Pollinate was super easy to work with and very helpful.

Size of apartment
The cleanliness Went there 8 years ago fond memories. They were destroyed. The bathroom was putrid mould thick in shower. Shower head falling off wall. The heating system manual in Italian. So useless. Dishwasher didn't work. All up I wouldn't go there again. Mould city
Admin on 05. Jan 2016:
When we brought it up with the owner, they responded that the guests hadn't contacted them during their stay for help with the dishwasher or the heating or the cleaning. Their cleaning staff does 3-5 hours with each change and is very diligent. They'll check the shower head and fix it - could have been damaged by a previous guest. And for mold, it's possible that there are mold stains, which can happen, as those have to be painted over. We've always had good reviews about the cleaning and maintenance at this apartment , so I'm sorry that this guest had this experience. Had they of contacted us or the owners we could have easily intervened and checked into it.

Large space, nicely decorated. Lady who helped us was fantastic.
Some information that the owners sent about the area was out of date and their directions weren't the best.
Cross-Pollinate was great; we used them in Rome and Florence. No problems and everything was as listed.

Great location off the tourist path, but still close to the sites. If you are looking to spend a few days in a Roman piazza, where you'll need to fend for yourself a bit, then this is it. Lots of local grocers and cafes near the piazza. Bus, tram and metro within easy walking distance -- about 15-20 mins into the Roman Empire. Great apartment for a family of 4 four. Bit of a mini-adventure. .... The owners were very helpful upon our arrival.
Not very much for our 4-5 days. The PC monitor / television wasn't working but, honestly, we wouldn't have used it much anyway.
Everything came off smoothly. Will likely use your service again. ..... I like the fact that the number of choices is manageable and not overwhelming. Pricing seems fair.

This is a great flat with plenty of room for three couples and in a very lively area of Rome. Everything we needed was there, iron, coffee maker, hair dryers. The trams are really convenient to the Colosseum and the Vatican and everywhere in between. There are lots of really good restaurants in the area and a very welcoming one just below the flat.
A little padding on the backs of the kitchen chairs?
Very helpful. They told us about the best transportation in the area, which made all the difference.
JoAnn on Sep 2013:

The apartment was very spacious, very clean and well equipped. The owner provided very useful tourist maps, transit guides, and was accessible by phone for any assistance.
Instructions from rail/bus station to apartment.
Cross-Pollinate was very prompt and helpful responding to any inquiries.
Eric on May 2013:

Gorgeous, spacious apartment in an off-the-tourist-path, young, hip neighborhood in Rome. The host is friendly and helpful. The kitchen is fantastic. Great for a family, and great for two or three couples, too. It's also really close to a small health-food store and macrobiotic restaurant, as well as everything you might need. Good view over the piazza, which gets pretty busy late on weekend nights but isn't very loud up on the sixth floor. Really, you can't do much better than this. It's an excellent value.
I suppose that Rome could put a bus stop or a taxi stand in the piazza, but that's the only improvement I can think of (and those things aren't more than a few short blocks away).
Cross-Pollinate is easy to use and far more reliable than its bigger competitors.
Sarah on Dec 2012:

This was ideal for a group of 5 friends and family, we loved it! It was top notch, beautiful and made us feel like we had won the lottery. It was in a real Roman neighborhood, hardly any tourists. We like the authentic experience, the restaurant downstairs was also amazing.
We had some issues with the washing machine but after the first day and a phone call to the owner it was all good. I have no complaints. There is no real lounge space with the exception of the dining area, but the bedrooms are so large, we all just hung out in there. I gave the location a 3, only because you are a 20 min walk to the nearest Metro stop, but also only 20 mins away from the Roman Forum area. You could walk everywhere, and we used taxi's a lot because there were so many of us! But that is why the apartment is so spacious and affordable.
I LOVE CROSS POLLINATE! I trust their advice and choices. I will use again and again!
