Appartamento Panisperna
This one bedroom apartment with a little terrace is located in one of our favorite neighborhoods of Rome - Monti. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Termini station, so for those arriving by train, it's easy to get to without having to deal with public transport. From there, the little quarter of Monti is full of cool restaurants, cafes, boutiquey shops, and charming little streets and ivy covered buildings (such as the one this apartment is in). It's lively at night, but more sophisticated than the area around Trastevere and Campo dei Fiori - ie. wine bars spilling chatty, fashionable customers onto the sidewalks rather than drunk college students!

The neighborhood is next to the Roman and Imperial Forum and from many streets you can see the Colosseum, which is a short walk away. From here, you can visit pretty much everything on foot, or there's the blue line metro at Cavour which makes it easy to connect to other areas further afield. Monti is a bit less touristy than other areas in the historic center and has a good neighborhood feel with some old artisan shops and woodworkers nestled between the more chic cafes and shops.

The apartment itself has a living room with a small, but functional kitchen and a double sofa bed, which is new and comfortable but will take up most of the living room area when open. The bedrooms connects to the living room but is separated only by a curtain, so there isn't loads of privacy.

There's a bathroom with shower and a double bed in the bedroom and a cute little private terrace.

Although it's on the 1st floor up from ground, it's a very old building from the 1600's and the stairs are steep.

Cheryl Cameron on Aug 2016:

I really liked the location of the apartment. The neighbourhood has everything you could want and the metro and coliseum are so close by. We would walk around in the morning, come back for lunch and then go out again in the afternoon. Having air conditioning in the summer was a real godsend.
When we arrived, there was no one to meet us, even though I had contacted the owner and everything was all set up. I called someone and they came right away but the sofa bed was not made up even though I had requested it in advance. The lady who came to meet us did bring us two big bottles of water, which was very nice.
I would definitely use Cross-Pollinate again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Rome.
Kathie Agrell on May 2016:

The apartment is attractive, comfortable and well laid out. There are many restaurants and attractions in the Monti area.
Apartment is located over very noisy and crowded bar - hard to sleep even with windows closed and earplugs. Vagrants eat and sleep on the doorstep blocking entrance and exit to the apartment. Wifi was extremely sporadic.
Fine

I'm sorry you were disturbed by the noise. Monti is one of the most popular, lively areas of the city, and normally why people choose to be there.
