Cross-Pollinate was very helpful when the owner of the B&B wanted to charge us for the baby under 2 y o. It would have been difficult without them since the owners did not speak any english. - Yulia Pichugina

Cross-Pollinate was fantastic and easy to use. We used Cross-Pollinate to book a room in Florence (the second leg of our trip), which was everything I thought it would be. We have recommended Cross-Pollinate to our friends. - Barbara Carlin
Cross-Pollinate are great - the descriptions are accurate and they are very responsive to questions. - Dominique Bayne
Cross Pollinate was just the best. I had tried a couple of places before coming upon them. As soon as I sent the first email I stopped looking for any more websites. I just wish they expanded to every city in Europe. Their knowledge, helpfulness, etc. was second to none. - Caroline Collis
Studio Sabbadini
This little studio has a good vibe, but a few setbacks:

1. The shower/bathroom is super small. There's a curtain that closes it off and once inside it's barely enough room to sit down on the toilet or shower - in fact the shower area doesn't close off from the sink/toilet.

2. To get up to the sleeping area in the loft is a small ladder and narrow passageway.

But if you're not picky about these things, you have a pretty cool space - definitely bigger than a hotel room. It's quiet as it's located in the inner courtyard of the building. When you enter, there's the sitting area below and then the sleeping area above. The owner, who lives next door is a musician and often home in case you need anything.

Located in Piazza Vittorio, an ethnic neighborhood about a 10 minute walk from Termini station and right around the corner from the red line metro which goes to the Spanish Steps and the Vatican. It's a short walk, maybe 20 minutes, to the Colosseum or the hip neighborhood of Monti. Nearby are all sorts of hidden gems like Trattoria Monti (one of our favorites of all time), the Roscioli bakery, Panella coffee bar, and Da Danilo - reported to have the best spaghetti alla carbonara in all of Rome.

Please note there's no kitchen. It's essentially a good alternative to a hotel room where you get lots of privacy and a larger, eclectic and unique space - a great way to experience your time in Rome.

Studio Sabadini is my HOME in Rome. I have stayed here on three different occasions and it is an oasis of cool and quiet after a day exploring wonderfully chaotic Rome. The proximity to the train station, abundance of amenities in the vicinity and 'real feel' of the neighborhood are a bonus. I walk everywhere from here. Though a studio, high ceilings and a large window prevent from feeling boxed in. The shower is interesting and clever but manageable. Accessing the loft area is like getting into the top bunk bed. It is surprisingly spacious up there! Traveling and then returning to Rome on this trip, Lorenzo was gracious in accommodating my schedule and is always pleasant, professional and helpful in our interactions. Grazie! Studio Sabadini has character and comes highly recommended to a couple or solo traveler who plan on spending the majority of time discovering incredible Rome and do not require all of the expensive silliness of a hotel room.
I can see where access to a fan in the loft on warmer nights would be a plus.
I am a loyal Cross-Pollinate customer and use them whenever I plan to travel to a city where they have apartments. I have never had an issue. More locations would.be great!

Sweet apartment and a great location! It's a quiet refuge from the busy streets of Rome.
Could use a fan up in the loft! it got very hot at night and would have been nice to have some air.
Love Cross-Pollinate! Flight got delayed and Cross-Pollinate was very responsive and helpful in communicating the change to our hosts.

Great hosts that were very kind and helpful. Location is great due to closeness to the Termini train station and closeness to a metro station.
Cross-pollinate was very accurate with all the info displayed on the website. Great experience.

Wonderful space, very creatively functional for a small studio. Very accommodating host.
It's a bit cluttered in te studio. Much of the stuff gives it good character, but it would be nice if all counters and surfaces were free of stuff.
Great

Everything about Studio Sabbadini was fantastic. Close to all sights, eateries and transport if required. Many, many sights are within comfortable walking distance.Lorenzo and his wife are lovely to deal with and most helpful always.
If there was a small bar fridge in the studio it would be perfect!
Cross-Pollinate was easy and intuitive to use and the communication was excellent.

Friendly hosts and a great little apartment. The courtyard is really nice to come home to and the location is very easy to get to from termini station.
The bathroom is tiny and a little bit awkward... Make sure you're comfortable with your roommate!
Francesca on Jan 2015:

Flat as described, near the station, very helpful and friendly hosts as well as faultless service from Cross Pollinate - great site, will use again.
The room smelt a bit funny! We did go in the middle of winter though so perhaps opportunities for airing the room were limited.
Great. Very easy website and very helpful staff.

Unique and lovely place for short stay in Rome. The host was very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed the stay very much.
Michelle on Sep 2014:

The room is very cosy and quirky. The decoration is great, with all the books and the violins it feels like staying at a friend's house. I also liked the beautiful courtyard, where turtles swim in a fountain! We enjoyed our stay very much.
There is not much privacy in the bathroom area. This is why I think the room is most suitable for a couple.
All was perfect!

LOCATION AND PRICE! It was less than 5 minutes from Termini from where we could easily get anywhere in Rome using the Metro (recommend Roma Pass - just make sure you get your money's worth) and just a short walk to Colosseum. Also, nearby to excellent restaurants as recommended by our host, who by the way were very friendly and had no problem answering any questions we had about the area. The location is also very secure and there's a beautiful fountain right outside our window. If you're planning to spend all day walking around Rome and just want a safe, cozy spot to come back to then look no further -- this is the place! Just make sure you book well in advance
Absolutely nothing, it was perfect!
Very easy to use this site and they were also very friendly and helped me book this spot no problem!

It's a very cozy room with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The host is friendly and nice. The location is great, not to far from the Termini train station, the metro and also in the walking distance to the Colosseum.
I have nothing unlikeable about this place, but it might not be comfortable for big or old people as the bathroom is very small and you have to climb up a small ladder to the bed.
Everything is fast and easy with Cross-Pollinate.

This apartment was adorable and we really loved staying there. The owners were the nicest couple and they were really lovely and accommodating allowing us to check out late since our train was late
The bed was just a little hard

The location (near the Termini Station) ; the helpfullness of owner -he was really there to help us, giving us suggestions on restaurants or places to visit. He is a really kind person, he even did his best to speak in french with us (which was really appreciated!!). It made a really big difference for us, because we knew that if we were looking for something or if we had a problem (no matter what it would be), we could knock on next door and Lorenzo would be there for us. ; the interior court was great, it was calm and we felt in security ; the studio is comfortable and you feel like home !

We are glad that we found out Cross-Pollinate website ! It was really useful for us !
Ágnes Mideczki on Apr 2014:

The location is great, close to Termini, but still very quiet. It is in a beautiful building, with a pretty fountain with turtles and goldfish in it on the courtyard. Although it is a small studio, for its size it is well equipped and made as comfortable as possible. The owners are really very nice and helpful. We had a wonderful stay, loved the cosiness of the studio, since we are a couple we didn't mind that the bathroom doesn't offer a whole lot of privacy. The kettle was also a great, we could have a fast coffee right in the morning.
Nothing really, for this size of an apartment, this is great.
I totally loved Cross-Pollinate, I hope that we will get the chance to try other CP accomodations and cities. By the way, Budapest is a city really coming up, and I think there are a handful of owners and BBs as well as tourists coming here who would love your old school service as much as we do. Don't you want to have a Budapest branch? We'd be happy to help set it up. (We are serious, we have our own business and work in marketing and journalism, we do projects like this, and this one really seems like fun.)
Kirsten on Apr 2014:

I really enjoyed how helpful and kind Sonia was during our stay.
However, the apartment was incredibly noisy and loud and the blinds were transparent making it impossible to get any sleep. The wifi was also turned off between the hours of midnight-8am but more times than not, it was forgotten to be turned on until we asked. The location was also not ideal. I wasn't familiar with Rome but after staying there I quickly realized that it wasn't the safest part of town.
Except for the noise level which was not mentioned on the website, the rest of our stay was pretty true to the description from cross-pollinate. I would def use the website again, though not studio sabbadini unfortunately.
Karina on Apr 2014:

Comfortable and unique. After strooling around rome, we can relax at the studio. They even have classical music collections. Close to the station and so many restaurant.
The towel not really absorb water very well.
Easy to book.
Kai on Nov 2013:

Enjoyed the stay, studio was as listed! The owner was very welcoming and greeted us with some homemade cake which was very nice. Location is in a beautiful building conveniently (if not very nicely) located near Stazione Termini and the Metro.
If you are travelling with someone you are not very intimate with the bathroom might be a little awkward. It is basically just a small corner of the room separated by a few wooden planks and a curtain. Did not bother us though.
Initial booking request response took a while, but all in all fine. Thanks!
