Cross-Pollinate are great - the descriptions are accurate and they are very responsive to questions. - Dominique Bayne
Cross Pollinate was just the best. I had tried a couple of places before coming upon them. As soon as I sent the first email I stopped looking for any more websites. I just wish they expanded to every city in Europe. Their knowledge, helpfulness, etc. was second to none. - Caroline Collis
Largo Argentina Terrace Studio
This studio is small -- really just enough room for a bed and a tiny bathroom with low ceiling where the shower water goes all over the place. It was once the "lavatoio" or washing room of the building and was converted into this tiny apartment. But it's cozy inside and laid out well enough to be comparable to a hotel room but with a small kitchen area. Certainly you wouldn't be making a big ambitious dinner here, but you can keep some groceries and make some sandwiches or salads, etc.

The selling point of this place, and what makes it worth every cent, is the terrace and the view. From inside the apartment, the view of Piazza Venezia looks like a painting on the wall. The terrace, which is about 3 to 4 times the size of the apartment itself, has a 360° panoramic view of Rome. You see the Vittoriano, the dome of the Pantheon, the surrounding rooftops and down into the ruins of Largo Torre Argentina which was once the Theater of Pompey where Julius Caesar was assassinated.

The neighborhood is as central as it gets. Below you is the tram that goes to Trastevere, and the buses that go to and from the Vatican and Termini. On foot you have the Jewish Ghetto a couple of blocks to one side and Campo dei Fiori a few blocks to the other.

When I say the view is amazing, I mean that any Roman would kill for that view. A small, awkward bathroom is definitely a doable sacrifice for being able to sip some wine out here on a summer evening when it stays light until 9pm or so.

Two other things to note is that the elevator only goes up to the 5th floor and one must take the stairs to the 6th to reach the flat, and that in the winter it is not easy to heat as the walls aren't super thick.

Terraces & location
Bed is really lousy, extremely uncomfortable mattress Which sinks in the middle. Hope owner would spend some funds to get a REAL BED AS that is the only real useful furniture in the room.
teun&ellen on May 2018:

The location and the roofterraces
there are a view things, that could easily be repaired.
Very friendly and helpfull staff. they arranged a taxi for us to pick us up and bring us away. exactly on time.

Weia Reinboud on May 2017:

The location.
The price ;-)
ellen&teun on Apr 2017:

-the view -location -the 2 terraces
some maintenance would be nice: -fix the toilet seat and the faucet of the sink from the kitchen -fix the lock of the closet door -please replace the mattress -please buy some decent pans for a little cooking -is there a possibility to make a shower-cabin outside? -a pair of extra keys would be nice
very correct
Gavin Young on Mar 2017:

The studio is in an ideal location and the roof top terrace is amazing.
The bed could do with being updated as it sags a bit in the middle. I didn't find it too bad but my wife, who has a bad back, found it really uncomfortable. The shower is a pain but we knew about that before we booked it. The fridge was working when we arrived and it was out of action for the whole week. It wasn't a huge issue, but it would have been nice if the owner had made more of an effort to get it fixed/replaced.
Cross-Pollinate were good and i would use them again.
on 05. Apr 2017:
From the owner: I'm sorry for all the inconveniences suffered by our guests, especially for the broken fridge. It is an old model and it is difficult to find the spare parts. I want to also thank you for telling me about the bed, only with the warnings of our guests we can improve the comfort of our studio.
Annemarie and Tracy on Oct 2016:

Cozy and quiet and the view from the terrace was SPECTACULAR!!! It was so close to everything!
We have had great luck with Cross-Pollinate an d will continue to use it!

Nothing. Description was 100% accurate
Delivered what was promised. Could not of been more pleased.
Tessa & Jim on Sep 2015:

Excellent location near tons of restaurants and a small gelato store just outside the residence. The private patio was a superb addition to the apartment and very nice to relax on after a long day of walking.
Maybe install a seal around the bottom of the bathroom door to limit water splashing outside while showering.
Had an excellent experience from the arranged pick-up at the airport to check-out and leaving Rome. Will definitely use the website again!
Ron in Ann Arbor on Aug 2015:

Location is central to everything. We were able to walk everywhere. Both terraces gave amazing views of Rome. Lower covered terrace gave protection from rain and usable during storms. All other amenities were acceptable.
Could use a couple of lounge chairs on terrace. The small table chairs gave use to eat but not to relax on terrace with.
Very easy to use and very reliable. Will use Cross-Pollinate on our next trip
Josh on Nov 2014:

The building is a lot of fun, with an old elevator that takes you to the fifth floor, located in a bustling neighborhood. The best feature of this place is the quite large roof top terrace that looks over much of the city. Great place to wind down for the evening with a glass of wine.
Not much can be done to improve this but it should be noted that this place is located on a very busy intersection where lots of buses meet a tram that runs in front of the building (which can be heard/felt in the apartment). It didn't affect our sleep, but it could for some. A corkscrew in the room would be a nice addition. Also, the shower is very tiny, as it is basically the entire bathroom. And it does leak, but luckily there are enough towels that is can easily be moped up. Just make sure the hot water heater is turned on ahead of time! This place was definitely sufficient for our needs, it is hard to pick a perfect place in Rome to stay, this is pretty good, but a good walk to most places and a ways to the metro, so we were certainly exhausted at the end of each day.
Worked out great, used it for two locations.
Frances Von Aesch on Jun 2014:

The view, the view, the view. What can I say about a place that has not one but two enormous terraces overlooking the City of Rome. An incredible way to get oriented or just to escape the crowds but still feel a part of the life of the eternal city. The kitchen facilities were more than adequate to cook with and we ate most of our meals there which was great for our budget. There was lots of sheets, towels and extra pillows. The bed was cozy and comfortable. The air conditioner worked well and the WiFi was a bonus.
We knew the bathroom facilities would be small and after we got the hang of using the shower it was just fine. But the toilet had some difficulty flushing all the way and maybe that could be improved.
We found cross pollinate very helpful and professional to deal with.
Eva Dalsgaard on Jun 2014:

The apartment is just lovely. Romes most spectacular view is from this particular terrace, and even though the apartment is small - it's got everything you need for a couple of days or a week stay. Location is perfect for everything, the owner is extremely helpful. If we ever go back - we will try to get this place again! We forgot a gift for our daughter in a drawer, and wrote to the owner to ask if he could send it to us, which he did. Thats good service. This place is worth every penny! I've already recommended it for 10 different people and posted links to the reservationsite for it - on Facebook and Twitter. LOVED it!
Elevator was broken, wifi did not work but we didn't mind. A better explanation on what to do with the trash would have been nice though, so one does not piss off the neighbours.
Very good site! Will DEFINATELY use again, very helpful and attentive! I'll spread the word for you in Denmark :) Thank you!
evelyne on May 2014:

No surprise, everything is mentionned in the description of the appartment. The terrace with the view is AWESOME, the location is GREAT, we didn't need to use any public transportation we were able to walk to all the famous places in Rome! We LOVED it!
Explain how to flush the toilet / and how to use hot water.
Danae on Apr 2014:

The view and terrace are FANTASTIC and worth every penny. I wish we had more time to relax on the terrace and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. This is a great central location that is within a 10-minute walk of nearly every attraction (except the Vatican). Couldn't have asked for a better location.
The shower is tiny, but it wasn't a problem for us.
We has a great experience with Cross-Pollinate and will definitely recommend it to others.
Francesca on Apr 2014:

The view is just amazing. I have recommended this to my friends. The owner and his daughter were gentle and lovely
Bathroom is very small. The place is noisy (bus station) but this remains a good compromise if you want to be in the center of Rome, few feet to the main monuments and places
Cross-Pollinate is very good. The description of the place, with pros and cons, reflects the reality. They were also available during the week-end to give me confirmation about the place I wanted to reserve. I will use it again
Damien & Joan Beasley on Jun 2013:

The location and setting was superb, especially the rooftop terrace.
Just the bathroom layout
Very helpful indeed
Martha Brown on Sep 2013:

The owner was very responsive when we needed to reach him. The terraces were beautiful and were the biggest asset, as advertised
Nothing we can think of
Very easy to use and we were pleased with the results. We would definitely use again
Heidi on Jul 2013:

The location and terrace are fabulous. While small, room is very comfortable. Be prepared to feel like you are living in the center of all of Rome (not quiet). It's wonderful!
No hot water was to be found on my visit in the small bathroom/shower space. A small sacrifice for me to stay at this rooftop paradise.
Have use several times now without any problems. Will use again in the future.
Admin on 18. Aug 2013:
Just to note: we asked the guest, and she said she was only there a few days and it was hot and she didn't mind the cold showers, so she didn't bring it up with the owner. We're sure it's something that could have easily been fixed (might even be that the hot water heater was turned off by accident!).
Jonathan Rettig on Jun 2013:

We got this place for the terrace, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Stunning views out over Rome, from a superb location. We walked everywhere and it was great to have the option of drinks overlooking that view as well as the short stroll that it was to all the sights, bars and restaurants.
Be prepared for a small indoor space. However, the terrace is so good that you won't want to spend any time indoors.
Everything worked as advertised.
katherine bush on Jun 2013:

The terrace was incredible and the location was perfect. Could walk to everything!
Everyone has been helpful and accurate. I have been recommending your site to everyone.
simonetta on May 2013:

INES on May 2012:

Amazing view, beautiful terrace, the flat is nice but a bit too tight for two people, especially the bathroom.
A duvet is too hot in summer. A cotton blanket would be more convenient.
The only thing that I have to remark is that we didn't get any receipt of the payment .
Weia on Apr 2012:

The location is magnificent, you are not staying in Rome but are breathing Rome all day round. The studio is very small, but the two terraces are great.
One of two gass stoves wasn't working. Being able to cook with two pans would be nice for the next time.
It was our first time, excellent service.
Dennis on Apr 2012:

Location good
Shower was an ordeal as everything gets wet. The biggest problem with this apartment was the necessity to lock/unlock several doors to enter the apartment, and the locks were often very difficult to use - a BIG problem in the event of a fire. Also, there was nowhere to store luggage as the bedroom is so very tiny.
We were unable to stay at The Beehive as there were renos being done in the room we were booked in, so we were directed to this apartment. This wasn't a great apartment, and we wouldn't recommend it.
