![]() | Amazing location, good air conditioning, lots of character and charm. Annarosa is a great host and speaks English very well! |
![]() | Musty smell that gets into your clothes, very cramped kitchen, small bathroom. |
![]() | First time using cross pollinate but it was great! Steve provided us with great information about parking on the outskirts of Rome and he and Annarosa went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Great value and service for the price! |
![]() | The apartment was just right for our weekend stay in Rome. It was an inviting space that had everything we needed: a place to sleep and relax, wifi, small kitchen (though we didn't use it), and bathroom. The apartment was nicely decorated and cozy; it was dark (one day we accidentally slept in until 11!) but we liked that. The location was perfect: it was easy to access to the center of Rome (Pantheon, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Navona) on foot. Annarosa was very nice and helpful and gave us some great recommendations, like a pasticceria around the other side of Piazza Trilussa. |
![]() | The garbage and recycling procedures were a little bit confusing, but that's it! |
![]() | It was helpful to be able to email Cross-Pollinate about my flight delay. |
![]() | Location is great and the host Annarosa is very helpful. |
![]() | The studio is very dark, very little daylight comes through two small windows. In general I the studio needs renewal and clean up. The kitchen utensil are few and outdated. The host has placed a lot of perfume dispensers to “freshen” up the air. The bed isn’t comfortable, the duvet is extremely heavy, you feel almost fixated in bed. |
![]() | Location is in a quiet locked courtyard 50 feet from a wonderfully busy pedestrian street with food shops, good (and some less good) restaurants, and a block party every night. Annarosa was very helpful, excellent recommendations, and responded in less than an hour to help is with an electrical outage in the middle of our stay. |
![]() | Be aware that the kitchen is barely adequate for making pasta and a sauce at the same time. The studio is tiny; its fun with the right attitude. |
![]() | Annarosa is charming, kind, helpful, and prompt! As far as I could tell, the location can't be beat. Trastevere is charming and lively, and the apartment is right on the edge of the neighborhood in such a way that you're very close to sites without having to stay amongst the tourists. You feel like a local staying in this apartment. The courtyard is a much-needed buffer between you and the nightly chaos that descends up on Trastevere. You're in the middle of the lively nightlife until you dip into your courtyard and settle into the quiet and cozy apartment. Absolutely ideal. |
![]() | The only downside, which can't be helped, is the lack of natural light. This made it quite difficult for me to wake up early. If you require natural light to wake up, which not everyone does, you're gonna need several alarms and a strong will to peel yourself out of the comfy bed in the mornings. |
![]() | Great! |
![]() | This was an ideal apartment for our stay. It is right in the center of the Trastevere neighborhood, near the footbridge that leads to the historical district. Trastevere is a lively, loud, fun neighborhood, but as soon as you enter the building, all you hear is the birds chirping in the green little courtyard, and the apartment itself was dead quiet. It is small, with no view, so if you are coming to Rome to lounge in your apartment, this is not the place for you. But if you are coming to Rome to get out and see the sights and want a clean, comfortable apartment as a base, near to everything, this is the place. The best part was the owner who met us at the apartment and gave us tips on good places to eat and things to see. She was wonderful. |
![]() | Cross-Pollinate is great. I am so glad I found it. |
![]() | Perfect location in Trastevere! In the middle of everything, but still super quiet. We could walk to every major attraction, and had many great restaurants and bars at our door step. The host was extremely nice and helpful. Place was very cute, clean, and had everything we needed. |
![]() | Would definitely use Cross-pollinate again, everything was great! |
![]() | Great location, great owner, Value. |
![]() | The studio was adorable. Annarosa met me there, explained how everything worked and gave good suggestions. |
![]() | Traveling alone, although trestavere was centrally located and I was able to walk everywhere, the neighbor's was more rowdy that I would have preferred. It was not as quiet at night as I expected. |
![]() | Never better. I will only use cross-pollinate when available. |
![]() | Great neighborhood, very helpful host, even when I had a medical emergency. Cute little place. |
![]() | Tiny, but adequate! |
![]() | Again, very helpful when I had a medical issue, and also helpful of their own initiative regarding bookings, when I double booked! |
![]() | Probably the best apartment I have ever stayed in abroad while on holiday! The location is absolutely fantastic! A quaint Roman back street by day, a hussle of activity early evening and the most popular hang out spot all night. When past the street doors and into a private 'courtyard corridor' you can't hear any noise. Into the apartment and you'd think your in the country. No noise, a lovely kitchenette/sitting room that leads to a traditional bedroom and ensuit. If I were to go to Rome again I would make sure this apartment were available first! |
![]() | None |
![]() | Cross pollinate are fantastic for email communication (both the admin end and also the apartment owner end). The transport service is phenomenal and saved us so much time, hassle and worry. Would deffinetly use again! |
![]() | A studio apartment is small, but that did not hinder us as we were away for most of the day. The photos and description of the apartment were just fine. Everything worked great, e.g., air conditioner, wi-fi, shower/hot water. We visited in late June and the temperature must have been in the 90s F (Pompeii and the Colosseum certainly were!!) but the apartment cooled down and we had no problem sleeping. Enjoyed the neighborhood, enjoyed the quietness of the apartment, and enjoyed the safety we felt. Location was good for us as we walked everywhere. Finally, Annarose is so nice. She clearly wants her guests to enjoy and love Rome as she does. |
![]() | Well, am I glad I stumbled onto Cross-Pollinate. Easy to use, staff very quick and helpful in answering questions, and everything turned out as adversised. We will use them again and have already recommended them to several others. |
![]() | The location in Trastevere is excellent. The apartment's location, set way back from the street allows the place to be quiet while being in the midst of an active area. The owner is sweet and really goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your vacation. The apartment has everything you need in a small area. |
![]() | I don't see what could be improved. The apartment is small, you will not have a party there. The bed is about a meter above the floor because the are drawers built into the base but a step stool is provided. |
![]() | Cross-Pollinate is easy to work with |
![]() | Perfect location. Great little studio in the middle of all the action but with peace and quiet as the studio is in an inner courtyard and therefore not noisy. |
![]() | Small shower |
![]() | This neighborhood is alive. Unbelievable how vibrant and electric it was at night. Full of shops, places to eat, and to drink. Possibly the best part though, was that once inside we were tucked away quietly inside a very safe cozy abode. It's location made it convenient to see all of Rome. The owner was extremely helpful, communicative, and really very welcoming. Before we arrived in Rome there were emails helping us to find her place, and answers to some early questions. When she welcomed us she was just so warm. Very helpful, with great ideas for eating and day trips around her place. Not tour guide stuff, local things. We lucked out that she didn't have anyone coming in the day we left, and she generously let us leave at our leisure. We didn't use the kitchen, but it was fully stocked with all the items you would need to cook for yourself. I would like to finish by saying that the history of the place (you can see the horseshoe imprints in the floor) was one of the reasons I wanted to stay here, that and the promise of quiet. Both met my expectations. |
![]() | This is on us to a point. We did not turn on the vent fan for the room. After a couple of showers. It was very humid inside. We left for the entire day with the door closed. So when we returned it was still very humid. If we had stayed there, leaving the front door open to the secure courtyard would have helped. However, we were there to get out. I had to reset the internet a couple of times and search for some of the light switches. None of this is a complaint. Just some of the things we learned over our very nice stay. |
![]() | Will look to deal with cross-pollinate as much as possible in the future. Very good experience. Liked the communication, and liked that I felt I had an advocate in case anything went wrong. Also liked that they provide some security for the owner as well. |
![]() | This apartment is very charming with old world touches that we loved. Our hostess was gracious and helpful, and was available checking in several times via text to make sure all was well. It was very quiet in spite of a very busy night scene in the street. The location is very convenient. We walked everyplace with no problem. |
![]() | New pillows and better sheets/bedding. Be prepared for lots of graffitti and trash. It felt a little sketchy at first. But when the evening comes and the graffitti covered doors open, cute little cafe's and shops spill out onto the street. Amazing to see and a fun scene! |
![]() | Excellent. I would absolutely use this service again. |
![]() | AnnaRosa was wonderful ...gave us lots of info and was available by phone . Location was accessible to major sights. Neighborhood was funky. |
![]() | Though the studio is in a quiet locked courtyard, the entry door and walls in surrounding area are covered with graffiti which might give some guests pause. Also, the bed was so high, I needed a stool to get in...not for someone with physical limitations. |
![]() | This is the 2nd time we've worked cross-pollinate. You folks are great! Though you deal with lots of people, you still communicate a personal touch. I especially appreciate the heads up on things like the last minute increase in bed tax in Rome and the info on services like Bags Free. Mostly, I like that you are there and we're not blindly trying to make these arrangements on our own. |
![]() | We loved everything about this place! The owner Annarosa was fanastic and incredibly helpful during our entire stay. The studio was perfect and just as depicted in the pictures - adorable! The location was amazing as we walked everywhere - to Vatican City, the Colloseum/Roman Forum, and many other sights. It was great returning to Travestere after a long day of sightseeing and enjoying amazing dinners with fresh, authentic Italian food just minutes from our "home." So many good restaurants, cafés, etc within a few minutes of this studio. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone considering this flat! |
![]() | Great experience! It was great that we could add on taxi service to the airport directly from the studio. Everything went very smoothly with the entire process. Thank you! |
![]() | The apartment was in a great area, and the apartment was as described. Whilst the hot water tank was on the small side, it had good pressure. The host was absolutely charming and very helpful. It is in a lively spot, but as it is in an internal part of the apartment complex it is very quiet. |
![]() | Nothing! |
![]() | Easy and helpful |
![]() | I was so glad we chose to stay in Trastevere during our visit to Rome! I probably wouldn't have known about it if not for this listing on Cross Pollinate. Walkable to EVERYWHERE. Tons of great restaurants/bars/cafes/shopping literally right out the door. 5 min walk to bus stop. The apartment is small and old (the owner said the building was from the 15th Century!) but we enjoyed the charm it offered. And you can't get a more inexpensive stay so top notch for the money. Communication was clear and fast from Annarosa. She was absolutely delightful, diligent, and such a great resource. |
![]() | Zero. |
![]() | Cross-Pollinate will be the very first place I check when planning our next vacation. I have already recommended it to friends! |
![]() | The apartment is exactly as described. It is very cute & its historical nature makes it quant. The location a 2 min walk to Ponte Sisto the location could not be better and quiet from any street noise which is great but all the fun and life of Trastevere is just out the courtyard. The corner bar makes the best coffee and a remarkably good pina colada go figure:-) AnnaRosa was very helpful, her comms were excellent and some good tips and info available. Could not fault our stay loved it. |
![]() | The wifi speed |
![]() | Seamless and easy booking. Great comms would definitely use again. |
![]() | The studio is exactly as depicted. The owner, Annarosa, was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming from first to last. The location was very convenient for sightseeing and--again as described--the studio was totally quiet even on a PACKED spring weekend in Trastevere because it is in the courtyard of a building off a crowded main drag! |
![]() | LOVE Cross-Pollinate! Would definitely use them again! |
![]() | The apartment was clean - clean bedsheets , towels and clean bathroom. We were a family of 4 and it worked out ok -though kitchen usage can become issue. The owner Annarosa was very helpful and apprised us of Do's and Don'ts in Rome and local restaurant recommendations. Even though it is in middle of Trastevere , it is deep inside the complex, so having a good night sleep was not a problem. |
![]() | There was a strong smell of Air freshner. Since apartment does not have windows, it stays there for ever. |
![]() | Very satisfied with the service. Had a little issue with contact number of owner of apt., but was resolved quickly. My suggestion would be to call owner before you begin your trip - to make sure all numbers are working. Would definitely use Cross-Pollinate again. |
![]() | This apartment is the perfect size for a couple, and is in an ideal location in the middle of Trastevere for visiting Rome. The neighborhood is a historic walkable area, as an easy base for walking to the sights in central Rome. Annarosa and her son were very friendly and welcoming, personally pointing us to a nearby restaurant for lunch, and otherwise making sure we were comfortable and informed for our visit. We were very pleased with our stay. |
![]() | The hot water might run out if two people take back-to-back showers -- we spaced out our showers and it wasn't a problem. |
![]() | It was clear that Cross-Pollinate has clear standards and good relationships with its hosts. I would definitely trust their network again. |
![]() | My husband and I stayed for a week in February and we loved our time here. The location in Trastevere is fabulous-there are tons of restaurants outside the door, it's about a 20-25 minute walk from St. Peter's along the river, and the public transit stops are really close by. Some previous reviewers mentioned that the flat is dark--it is a ground floor flat facing an interior courtyard, so it is a little dim, but, it's perfect for getting over jetlag, and when in Rome, you don't really want to sit inside all day! It's also a studio, so you would just want to stay as a couple, but there's more than enough room for two. I would also highly recommend staying here because of Annarosa, the lovely owner of the flat--she was so responsive to questions and genuinely concerned how our stay was going. We would definitely stay here again. |
![]() | We had enjoyed staying in of the offsite guestrooms run by the Beehive before so I was interested to see what using Cross-Pollinate would be like. I had looked at other sites that offer apartment rentals, but Cross-Pollinate seemed to offer more oversight over the quality of the property. I would definitely check out other locations the next time we travel. |
![]() | On our recent trip Italy, this was by far our favorite place that we stayed. Trastevere is the best location to stay in Rome because it allows you to mix with actual Romans while still being close to the historic center. This studio was right in the center of Trastevere's main area of restaurants and cafes. The owner, Annarosa, is the sweetest woman. She gave us recommendations for the best nearby restaurants, cafes, and gelato shops and they did not disappoint. The studio itself is quaint and has a nice small living area with kitchen and semi-separated bedroom and small bathroom. Its located off of a small courtyard which keeps it off the noise of the street. |
![]() | This isn't something that can actually be changed because of the historic nature of the apartment but the shower is quite narrow which might be an important consideration for some guests. It didn't impact our visit. |
![]() | What a cute little place in a very old, special building! The area of Trastevere is so neat and the apartment is in a locked area so very safe and away from the street noise. We walked all over downtown Rome, Trastevere, and to Vatican City from here. Annarosa was so nice, I want to stay here and we can be friends. :). She had lots of useful resources, maps and local recommendations. |
![]() | If you are looking for space, this isn't the place. But it's cute and has what you need. |
![]() | Very good - I'll use cross-pollinate again. Expand to more cities. :) |
![]() | Everything from the quaint atmosphere of the accomodation, location (within easy walking distance of all the sites in Rome), colourful streets of Trastevere and our gracious host who provided an easy-to-follow map with recommendations for eating and the best gelato! |
![]() | Would highly recommend using your services to anyone. |
![]() | The apartment is a cozy place oozing with history but updated to provide the necessary amenities for the weary traveler. Annarosa greeted us and provided recommendations for the area and helped us get acquainted with the property. |
![]() | It would have been more helpful to meet the owner outside the unit at an agreed upon time instead of having to call her to meet us. |
![]() | The site was very helpful and even clarified our deposit amount upon noticing an error. |
![]() | Great location, very private and quiet. |
![]() | It is a bit small so do not plan to have more than a couple staying here. It would be nice if they install a microwave. |
![]() | Cross Pollinate is a great site. Information is very accurate, the rental process is easy and the apartment owners were all very nice and provided good recommendations on the area. we will use this site again when we travel to Europe. |
![]() | The photos do this apartment justice; it really is as beautiful as it looks. My fiance and I have just spent a week in this studio and would stay here again if we ever return to Rome. The owner Annarosa is lovely and welcoming and gave us lots of information about Rome and Trastevere when we arrived. She was also flexible with our checking out times to fit in with our plane journey. We discovered at the end of our holiday how knowledgeable she is about Rome's history and would have liked to chat with her for much longer! The apartment was spotless, and it was great to have a kitchen and living area. We usually go out every night for meals on holiday but we had one dinner 'at home' this week because the flat is so nice. The best thing was the comfortable bed, I think I've had the best week's sleep I've ever had. The flat is dark so it's perfect for sleeping, and there are plenty of lights so it's fine during the day. The road the apartment is on is busy and pulsing with life which we loved seeing at night. The apartment itself is set away from the road in a courtyard so you can't hear any noise at all when you go to bed (and I am usually a very light sleeper). It's a perfect location; Trastevere is beautiful and there are lots and lots of nice restaurants and bars on the doorstep of the apartment and surrounding area. We were easily able to walk everywhere we wanted to visit; the Vatican, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Villa Borghese park etc. We also walked to the Piramide station to get a train to Ostia Antica on one of the days which we thoroughly recommend. |
![]() | The only slight problem is that the hot water in the shower is limited so you have to time your showers so that you are not having them directly after one another. Even then, the water didn't stay warm quite long enough for me, but then I do like to have long showers, and my fiance didn't have a problem with this at all. Much better for the environment to have shorter showers anyway...It wouldn't stop me from going back. |
![]() | We were very pleased to be directed to the Cross-Pollinate site - this was an excellent flat at a very affordable price. |
![]() | We had a fantastic 3 night stay at Truly Trastevere Studio! The location was perfect for us as it felt traditional and local but all of the city's attractions were easily within walking distance. Annarosa was superb and gave us lots of great advice upon arrival. She also kept in touch during our visit and was happy to help with anything we needed. We loved the apartment and it had everything we needed. It is beautiful and quaint and obviously very well looked after. |
![]() | The only thing we could think of that should maybe be mentioned is that the apartment only has two very small windows. It didn't bother us in the slightest and is not something that can actually be improved but is maybe worth knowing. |
![]() | We found the system easy to use and had an excellent experience. |
![]() | ambiance, history, owner very friendly, great place, would go back again |
![]() | very helpful and convenient |
![]() | Everything, it´s a wonderful place in tratsavere, the most beauty village in the city... I loveee... |
![]() | It´s everything perfect. |
![]() | Is a good choice for people like us, we like travel and live the city like the habitants, In rome be roman;) and using cross pollinate is a good choice to chose the best places in city to stay... |
![]() | we missed some daylight |
![]() | ok |
![]() | It was such a cosy apartment. The bed was really comfortable. The location was perfect - we walked to the colosseum and other ancient Rome sites easily and then the buses were also nearby if we did not want to walk. Trastevere seemed to be the place to be at night - full of Italians as well as tourists rather than just tourists and so much fun to people watch at night. That said the apartment was tucked away in a courtyard and so was very quiet and peaceful. Annarosa - the owner was really lovely and her restaurant recommendation ruined us for all our other meals - the best pasta we have ever eaten. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends! |
![]() | The only thing that might be an issue for some people was that there is no heat - that said we were there in January and were fine. The walls are really thick and the bed is very warm and we tend to get cold easily. There is a small air conditioner for the summer heat. |
![]() | I have already recommended Cross - Pollinate to friends. We are currently staying at another of their locations in Venice and it is fantastic too. |
![]() | Amazing location, friendly and very helpful owner, clean and quiet. |
![]() | Cant think of anything! |
![]() | Easy, efficent and great price for such a central location. |
![]() | Great locaton! Cute and cozy place. The owner was very helpful and accomodating. Would highly recommend. |
![]() | The hot water doesn't last long, but after the first shower there, you just learn to move faster. |
![]() | Very helpful. Will use again for other trips. |
![]() | The style and coziness of the apartment. |
![]() | everything was fine! |
