Laura's Ministudio
Laura's is a colorful and well-maintained little studio (about 18 square meters) in an interesting, up-and-coming neighborhood just north of Rome's main train station (about 15 minutes by bus or tram, very well-connected and easy to get to and from). The neighborhood is ethically diverse, with a young and artsy feel, and lots of interesting restaurants, bars, little galleries and so on. In the mornings there's a farmers' market just around the corner on a sunny square.

The neighborhood is an area of Rome little known to tourists but definitely worth exploring, especially if you are coming to Rome to live the city. Young and young at heart, open-minded people will probably enjoy it the most.

The studio itself is small but functional and has been completely made over with custom-made furniture and ecological materials. There's all you'll need for a short stay in Rome-- a well-equipped kitchen, books, great WiFi connection.

If you need a bit more space, there's the building's shared terrace that you're welcome to use.

Note: The apartments' windows are located on street level and the studio is partially below street level. It's not quiet as you will hear the people in the streets walk by and chat, but it's not a through street so no traffic noise.

Katherine on Jun 2014:

Laura's ministudio is perfect for a couple of people looking for a cheap and cheerful alternative to a hostel or hotel. The neighbourhood has a lively atmosphere and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
The fridge wasn't very cold so we had to use food up quickly but it wasn't that much of an issue.
Everything was very easy and straight forward without any hidden charges.

Nice studio and I loved the neighborhood! Everything very compact, but everything I needed was there!
It's a shame the neighbourhood was a bit outside of the center, getting back late in the evening/at night was a bit of a hassle. But the atmosphere is so nice that it was worth it!
Great service.
Tony Kraus on Aug 2013:

Very compact, but had everything we needed for our stay. The owner was really helpful and gave us really useful advice, especially since this was our first trip to Rome.
A fan would have been useful as the room got very stuffy in the summer heat.
Very good service, will definitely look up their other properties in other cities when planning our next trip.
Karla Strittmatter on Jul 2013:

Laura has all the basic living supplies, small and manageable. The bed is pretty comfortable, as long as you are physically able to climb up and down. Laura is very accommodating and easy to reach. The neighborhood is very nice, get to know it and hang out a little. I recommend a laptop or tablet for any entertainment because she has outstanding wi-fi connection!
Nothing too apparent, we had what we needed. If we didn't have it, we purchased it as if we were in our own home.
I would recommend Cross-Pollinate to any budget conscience traveler for safe lodging needs. If you want to do something besides the "usual hotel travel experience", try this service.

Weather in Roma ! Room Price
Too noisy. Impossible to sleep near a nightclub. Windows are too old and don't stop noise and air. Also , going down thé bed is dangerous . Fortunately, the third night was booked Too times and miss...(i don't remember her name ) asked us to go in another room near the Colloseum. This room was very nice, noiseless and breakfast free !
Website is ok, no problem .
