Entirely renovated and owned by a young woman, Sylvia, who has started a small family run vacation-rental business in 2012 and is as eager to do as great a job as possible. Between herself and her parents, who live just one street over, they own 3 apartments in the neighborhood and have converted them into vacation rentals with brand new, super-clean furnishings. Maintenance-wise it's in the best of hands - her father's, who is a handyman.
Decor is very clean and simple, with some playful, colorful touches with designer furniture. The windows lead to an inner courtyard so it's very calm and quiet. There's a small bathroom, a living/entrance area with kitchenette and double sleeper sofa as well as the tiny toilet (in a separate little closet as is common in Paris). Down a set of winding stairs is the bedroom with attached bathroom. This bedroom has no window and is below street level, but it's not unpleasant! Very cozy and cavelike.
The neighborhood is just at the bottom of Montmartre (a couple flights of stairs to climb and you're there!). It's a nice mix of residential and Parisian, almost "elegant" but also still multicultural and not too touristed. Naturally, you have lots of cafe's, eateries, and bakeries, one of which, on rue Ordener 159, has won the award for 'Best Baguette" for 5 years in a row. There is also a marketplace area with open air market for fruits, veggies, cheese, fish, etc. A nice little park and playground are also only a few minutes by foot, on Square Clignancourt. The closest metro line, Jules Jouffrin stop, line 12, is a short walk away, making it easy to get to other parts of the city.
No pets, please!
