Marti Flat is run by two French sisters. The apartment is located in the popular neighborhood of Istanbul on the Asian side, Kadikoy. Do not let the word Asia scare you, it is just 20 minute ferry ride away from the European side. The heart of Kadikoy almost feels like a University town by the beach - there's a grid of cafe's that range from the cheap to the fancy and market stalls overflowing with olives while older Turks slalom through the crowds with Turkish tea.
The flat is in a historical Greek building. It is spacious, bright and has a nice view of Bosphorus and Blue Mosque from two rooms - perfect for watching the sun set. It is furnished with the essential needs: kitchen utensils, WI- FI and information on Istanbul, but you will not find TV or phone in the apartment. All but one room has double glazed windows and one bedroom has a fan (the others don't need it).
The location is very central, 5 minute walk to ferry port, metro station and bus stops, 10 minute walk to historical fish market and 15 minute walk to one of Istanbul's most charming neighborhoods, Moda. The neighborhood is local, quiet, and pleasant and just steps away from bars, restaurants and antique stores. The best thing about the apartment is you are in an authentic neighborhood of Istanbul and away from the tourist crowds, yet you are still very close to that part of the city.
Marti Flat is ideal for family reunions, group of friends, travelers on a budget, 2nd time Istanbul visitors, and others who prefer less chaotic Istanbul. The only thing con about the flat is that it is on the 6th floor and there is no elevator, but the peace and view your find from the flat makes you feel that it is worth.
Tilly sisters live close to the flat and are happy to answer your questions and give suggestions to enjoy your time in Istanbul.
