 | Even though you can get a general sense from the pictures, you will have no real idea of how charming this apartment is until you actually enter it. It is so... for lack of a better adjective: European! Wooden shutters, hardwood floors, tiny but well-appointed bathroom. Just what you would expect if you imagined your typical Florentine apartment. It's like being in "Room With a View" (if you're old enough to remember that movie or have read the novel). Of course, what makes it even better is the wonderful insights and information that Giovanni can share with you about his city and the amazing breakfast! |
 | This was our first time using Cross-Pollinate. We are pretty devoted to Air BnB, but at the suggestion of a friend we stayed with Giovanni in Florence and never regretted it for a minute! We will definitely check out what Cross-Pollinate has to offer if we are ever in Italy again. |

 | Like other reviewers, I have nothing but good things to say about Gianna's B&B. I'll focus on the aspects I liked the most:
(1) The proprietors are lovely: helpful and accommodating without being fussy. They seemed to be around when you needed them but I never felt like I was intruding. They tidied up when it was convenient for us, not for them.
(2) You get so much space for your money, and the space is cosy and comfortable -- which was brilliant because we were rained in for most of a day. I felt like a guest in a friend's house.
(3) There were wonderful, unusual touches of hospitality such as gourmet biscuits, a fruit bowl with good seasonal fruits, bookshelves with a wide variety of titles, dominoes and playing cards, mixers in the mini-fridge, and a breakfast that was catered to our requests (both in terms of when it was served and what it contained).
Nevertheless, I think it's fair to say that we loved it so much partly because we aspire to be low-impact travellers. Gianna's may not be the sort of place for a person who really wants a luxurious holiday. For example, towels and bed linens are not changed daily -- a wasteful practice anyway, but one that a lot of people seem happy to go along with. Moreover, there is neither a TV nor a radio. Gianna's is simply a brilliant example of a traditional B&B rather than a boutique hotel that masquerades as an upmarket B&B.
Gianna's is such good value that anyone with reasonable expectations ought to be more than delighted with every aspect of their stay. |

 | The location is awesome and you can get everywhere by foot or there is a taxi stand nearby. The room is clean and comfortable with great airconditioning which was heavenly after a long day. There is a double bed on the ground floor and a single bed upstairs. Beds are comfortable and great. I only suggest you bring earplugs with you because it can get noisy in the morning and you might be waking up way earlier than you want to. When we got there he was very helpful with pointing out the distances from where we are to major places in the map. Breakfast was the BEST. We got an assortment of fresh and super yummy pastries and coffee and fruit!! We loved it! The best breakfast we had among the 3 places we stayed in Italy. There's a lot of books and no TV but you won't be needing it anyways. The price is great too and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone staying in Florence. |

Breakfast was very generous and delicious. |

 | This is the B&B experience of my life. Gianna is just lovely and the room with a nice loft where the bathroom is placed was great. It felt like you were visiting your grandmother who took really good care of you. Gianna showed us where to walk and what to see, she asked us what breakfast we wished for and when we wanted it in the morning. I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Stay here! |

 | Staying at Gianna's was very comfortable and Jane made it like visiting a good friend! Located close to San Lorenzo (church and central market), Accademia (Piazza San Marco) and the Duomo, the well-appointed apartment is on the top floor of a traditional three story building. Jane makes you feel at home immediately and knows Florence very well. Her English is perfect (native of Australia) and she speaks Italian fluently. There are two levels and in addition to the classic king (or two twins) there is another twin upstairs with the bathroom. There is also a well-stocked tiny kitchen. Breakfast is whatever you'd like and Jane brings it at the appointed time. |

 | Myself and 2 friends stayed here for 2 nights in April 2015 and we are so glad that we did, Jane is a native Australian so communication isn't a problem and she will answer all the questions you may have, she looked after us very well, our breakfast was always on time, was delicious and filling, the apartment has a well stocked fridge in the kitchen, a substantial library, fresh fruit, mints and sweets were provided daily, the room itself is bright, airy and clean with a bathroom and single bedroom upstairs, the apartment is on a small side road so traffic noise isn't a problem and all of the sights and the main train station are a 10-15 minute stroll away.
If you book here then contact Jane beforehand with anything and she will do her very best to offer help and assistance, I did and she got back to me the same day with offers to book tickets for the sights of Florence or a restaurant table for you, a nice but rare touch. |

 | We had a lovely experience at Gianna's. Our hosts were quick to respond to any inquiries we had, large or small, before we arrived in Florence. They provided accurate information about the area and made a few recommendations that led us to some fabulous places. The accommodations were comfortable and the breakfasts delicious. Best of all, our hosts were incredibly kind and willing to help us have a good stay in any way they could.

 | Jane was great and the directions to get to her B & B were very good. Her and Giovanni were extremely considerate and accommodating. We were only here for one night but her map and suggestions were very helpful. We really enjoyed her dinner recommendation around the corner from the B & B called Cafaggi - excellent service, food and atmosphere after a very long day.
Jane went out of her way to make our stay, even though just one night, something to remember. Excellent breakfast and she even found us an adapter to charge the phone. Thank you again for a wonderful stay ! Hope to see you again. |

 | My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights. What a lovely B&B it is. Our host spent a lot of time giving recommendations and tips of where to go and what to do which was very helpful and appreciated.
There is only one room at Gianna's B&B and it is very spacious with an upstairs area for the bathroom and an extra bed if there are 3 of you staying.
The bed is large and comfortable and the B&B is in a quiet street so we slept very well here.
Location wise, it is within 15 mins walk from everywhere including the train station and The Uffizzi.
Breakfast was wonderful and was brought into the room at the requested time. Lovely coffee and delicious fruit.
I would definitely recommend staying at Gianna's when visiting Florence.

 | We enjoyed our stay at Gianna's. Very comfortable room; lots of books to thumb through. Jane and her husband are excellent hosts, not only recommending things to do while in Florence, but also in Bologne, our next stop. We had a wonderful stay here, and would definitely return.

 | My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at Gianna's. It was close to all the sites while in a quieter neighborhood area. The room is spacious by many European standards and the assistance with sites and local insight was great. Would check out the website for details but we highly recommend. |

 | Gianna is a wonderful hostess. She is very helpful and gave us very good information about sightseeing and other helpful hints on getting around. This apartment is spotless and very comfortable. Gianna made sure the refrigerator contained refreshments and serves a very good breakfast. You could not get a better hostess. The apartment is within easy walking distance to all the major sights and train station. |
 | If you are not a very sound sleeper you may have difficulty with the noise from the street. It is a very busy street with ongoing traffic at all hours of the night. Perhaps it is like that in most B and B's in this area? Obviously, this is not something an owner can do anything about but I felt it needs mention because it could be bothersome to some. |
 | Very responsive to enquiries. I would book again through this site. |

Unfortunately you experienced the nightly street sweeping which the owner says happens twice a month. By any major cities standards, their place is very quiet. It's in a limited traffic area (ZTL) so the noise is just people noise (which could also come from neighbors, babies, parties etc.) and not easy to warn against in any city as it's hit and miss.
