Unbelievably friendly and warm staff who gladly gave expert travel advice and recommendations that only a Roman would normally be privy to. - Loic Diels
I LOVE this website and will gladly recommend it to anyone headed this way. Nothing disappointed us! - Mary-Iris Taylor

A really great idea - with a network of hand picked little rooms/guesthouses. If only we could have this in more city destinations! - Zoe Buck
I love Cross-Pollinate and every time we go to a new city I look to see whether they have some accommodations over there. - Arantza Aldea
The two places I have stayed at from Cross-Pollinate have been among the best across Europe. Highly recommended. - Nicholas Burn
Thanks a lot to Cross-Pollinate for the opportunity to experience a city as an insider! We really enjoyed our stay in Rome and Venice and look forward to more. - Tatiana Marchenko
Cross-Pollinate was very helpful when the owner of the B&B wanted to charge us for the baby under 2 y o. It would have been difficult without them since the owners did not speak any english. - Yulia Pichugina
This was our only stay with a C-P apartment and we were very pleased with the entire process. Will look to use them again on our next Europe trip! - Anthony Giglio
Great web site and quick response from the team a CP made the whole experience easy and hassle free. I have already recommended CP to quite of few of my airline industry colleagues and I'm sure they will make use of their excellent service. - Shane Pickles
Cross-Pollinate was extremely helpful! They found us a place to stay in our price range when many other places of business couldn't help us. - Sarah Seminutin
Cross-Pollinate was very easy to use, and it is so much better to stay in places like these than big corporate hotels; you get a much better feel for the place. - Kaspar Deane
Very straight forward. Well done. Definitely would use it again. Love these type of alternatives to hotels! - John White
Cross-Pollinate was fantastic and easy to use. We used Cross-Pollinate to book a room in Florence (the second leg of our trip), which was everything I thought it would be. We have recommended Cross-Pollinate to our friends. - Barbara Carlin
Cross-Pollinate are great - the descriptions are accurate and they are very responsive to questions. - Dominique Bayne
Cross Pollinate was just the best. I had tried a couple of places before coming upon them. As soon as I sent the first email I stopped looking for any more websites. I just wish they expanded to every city in Europe. Their knowledge, helpfulness, etc. was second to none. - Caroline Collis
Appartamento Il Magnifico
This is a large apartment of 80 square meters consisting of two double bedrooms, a large living room with two sofas (one of which converts into a double bed), a dining area, kitchen and two bathrooms, one being a full bathroom (with shower) and one just a restroom.

The area around the Basilica di San Lorenzo (one of the cities' largest churches) is considered the center of the city’s main market district, and thus a colorful one! There's a vast indoor food market and market stalls of all kinds in the streets surrounding it. It's also the burial place of all the principal members of the Medici family!

Yin Wen on Nov 2016:
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would choose this place again if we went back! The apartment is very modern, clean and spacious for 5 people. It's location is right in the middle of the city centre, 3 minutes walk to the Duomo, with shops/ restaurants just below the apartment. Giacomo was quick to reply to any questions we had and was very helpful when we initially had problems with booking some train tickets. It was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay, one of my favourite apartments. Would strongly recommend!

On the plus side: Matteo and Valerio were very accommodating when we arrived a little earlier than anticipated, and we were able to check in before our stated arrival time. Thank you! The apartment is well located – it’s easy to walk anywhere in the city from here. The Conad grocery a little way down the street is very convenient, too. The apartment is also quite spacious, and it was nice to have separate living room and dining room areas. Strong and reliable wireless connection. Appliances in the kitchen worked well.
On the minus side: A bit of basic maintenance is called for – paint peeled off of the ceiling onto the floor in one of the bathrooms due to what looked like a water leak from the apartment above. The shag carpet in the living room also needs a thorough cleaning. We agree with the reviewer from April 2015 who suggested that the kitchen could be better equipped – we second the request for a better frying pan! (And additional waste baskets throughout the apartment.) For us, the biggest concern was the street noise. Investing in double-paned windows would help a great deal. We’re not new to life in a city and we were in Florence during a busy time (late September) but the activity on the street below was going strong till at least 11pm on most nights, and until 3am on two of the nights we were there, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep – even with earplugs. We thought it was ironic that a sign on the apartment door asked those within the apartment to be quiet at night, given all the noise outside. A nice apartment overall, but if you plan to visit during the main tourist season, bring earplugs for sure – or be prepared to sleep in the living room if you want to get any rest during your stay.
Everyone we communicated with at Cross-Pollinate was terrific -- thank you so much! We would definitely work with Cross-Pollinate again for future rentals.

Mike on Apr 2015:

The location was ideal, about a block a half block from the Duomo, a 5 minute walk to SMN train station, and there was even a little grocery market a 1 minute walk away. The apartment itself was very nice and big, comfortable, clean, wireless internet worked, shower in the bathroom was huge by European standards. All in all, it was a nice spacious apartment in an ideal, if not a little noisy at night, location.
Unfortunately the washing machine did not work. We tried to use it that first night we were there, and when it didn't work, called and complained the next morning. I was told they would have someone out to look at it... and that was the last we heard of it. It never worked and we never received a call back, an explanation, a discount or anything. Normally, this would not be a big issue for me except that when travelling in Europe for extended periods, we pack very light and were counting on being able to do our laundry. It was one of the reasons I chose this apartment so this was a big disappointment. Also, there are signs posted in the apartment explaining that you must take the garbage out, but failing to tell you where to take it to. I called and spoke with the gentleman that checked us into the apartment and he wasn't sure either. To me this is unnecessary confusion that could easily be fixed with a better sign. Finally, there were certain items I expected to be in the apartment that either weren't there or we greatly lacking... Such as I expected there that weren't, such as trash cans in the bathrooms, in fact there was only the one main trashcan for the whole place located in the kitchen. I expected there to be ice trays in the freezer. I realize that Europeans are not as fascinated with ice in their drinks as Americans, but I expected there to be at least an ice tray or two, and there were none. Warm G&T's really suck. The kitchen pots and pans were bare bones as well. I wasn't expecting a full set of All -Clads but I was expecting more than the one 6" fry pan. Once again, not the end of the world, but a couple pans would have made cooking pancetta and eggs a lot faster.
S.K. on Feb 2015:
The apartment is luxurious, clean and well furnished with everything you could need. It felt like our home. The location is in the centre, close walking distance to everything. The road beneath is for pedestrians only with a fantastic restaurant opposite. It can get a little noisy at night but the positives make up for that. We loved our stay here and would certainly recommend it.
