![]() | The space ia just great, looks as the picture... Claudia and her mom are very nice and helpful. They were the perfect hosts for our stay. The flat is just 10 min. Walk to the city center so that was very easy to get all the places and go around... |

![]() | Excellent. |
![]() | Perfect location. Super fun neighborhood. We loved staying here! |
![]() | First time using Cross-Pollinate and loved it! Will definitely use again. So glad I found out about the service. Thank you! |
![]() | Thanks for the use of this marvellous apartment. We celebrated my wife's 70th birthday. Amazing!! The Academia Restaurant was excellent. Your location was perfect for walking through the city! Thanks again!! |
![]() | We found this apartment through Cross-Pollinate (listed as Appartamento Gioberti) and it made for a very pleasant stay in Florence. Claudia and her mother provided lots of information about the neighborhood - the apartment is out of the main tourist zone in a nice area with many shops and and restaurants within a short walk. It is also an easy walk to the main attractions and pleasant walkways along both sides of the Arno. The apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated - all amenities (including the handy washing machine) are new and work perfectly. The apartment is about 2 blocks from a stop where you can get a bus to/from the main train station. We arrived at Campo di Marte station and walked (about 20 min) with a rest in a shady piazza along the way. This would not be a good option with heavy luggage (we had packpack-type bags). We were completely happy with these accommodations - the best of our 3 1/2-week trip to Europe! |
![]() | The apartament was very clean, in a modern building. Maria and Claudia knew we were already in Florence and made the generous offer to let us store our bags before check in. Maria met us at the building at our convenience and took our luggage up herself! (much to our dismay)!! Good and bad: After a long day of sightseeing, it felt like a bit of a long walk. However, if you want to see how the locals live, stroll the shops on Gioberti, and the parks along the river. It was actually quite nice after a few days of museums -you may be the only tourist! It is a $9 taxi ride to/from SM Novella if you have luggage. |
![]() | Claudia asked us to sign a "contract" after we arrived, and it was only in Italian! She said it was for her accountant only, but I have no idea why the Cross-pollinate contract wouldn't suffice. She left us a copy, and I'm ashamed to say that I signed, because they had neither our payment info or passports. None of the other 3 apartments we stayed in required this. They seemed a bit "green" at the rental game compared to our other hosts. |
![]() | Great!!! Helpful, nice places!! |
![]() | The apartment is well situated for travellers wanting to experience real life in a large Italian city. We were able to walk to all the sights and then return to peace and quiet at the end of the day. The apartment was beautifully clean and had everything we needed to prepare our own meals although there were plenty of places where we could have eaten out. Claudia and Maria were most helpful with suggestions for sights away from the crowds as well as providing all the information we needed for shopping, eating out and getting around. |
![]() | We have booked apartments twice with Cross-Pollinate and have been delighted with both. |
![]() | This apartment was fantastic that I stayed well over a week at. Spotless clean with everything anyone would need and a superb location in getting to know the real Florence. Just like described in a previous review on here, Claudia and Maria were unbelievably helpful in getting me settled in and would stay in good contact if any need arose. All of their recommendations about the the area were fantastic and I could not get enough of. With a neighborhood branch of major Italian bank right next door for ATM, plenty of food shops and grocery store nearby and best of all IL Bigallo Caffe, one of the best cafes and espresso places in Florence right across the street for delicious breakfast, lunch and afternoon gelato and aperitif . How could anywhere else in Florence be better to stay at. It is in an extremely safe local neighborhood that is a perfect walking distance down the great shop lined Gioberti Street to museums and away from the congested tourist part of Florence. I want to soon come back here and stay even longer. |
![]() | Nothing could be improved. Claudia and Maria are very experienced in doing this and wonderfully helpful. |
![]() | I stayed at two different apartments in Florence using Cross-Polinate and they were totally accurate in their description and reviews of apartments. They were also extremely easy to keep in contact with at all times when locating and arriving at the destinations. They really do a great job in reviewing and only connecting with great places and good people who run them to stay at. |
![]() | Claudia and her mother are amazing. Anything you could imagine, they have thought of. Fresh, clean ironed linens, kitchen utensils to a basket of fresh fruit. The apartment is in a newer building, it is quiet, clean and comfortable. My friend and I spent 7 nights during the last week of September 2013. The apartment is perfectly located. It is in the heart of a Florentine neighborhood, with many conveniences around such as restaurants and a super-market; yet, it is only a 20 minute walk to many of the downtown attractions. There are books to read, left by previous travelers and a basket full of brochures & maps to assist you with finding all the things you want to see and do. With the help of Claudia’s info sheet, we knew all the best spots in the area. We saved money by shopping at the local super-market and cooking meals at the apartment and spending our last evening dining at one of Claudia’s suggested locations. We had all the luxuries of home. The large bedroom could easily house both our luggage, leaving the living area free until night time where we utilized both the pull-out sofa and bedroom bed. The convenience of a washer was delightful. Claudia had a drying rack, hangers, blow-drier and so on. I would definitely recommend 34 Gioberti for anyone visiting Florence. If I should be so lucky to return to Florence, I will be seeking my lodging from Claudia and her mother. Perfect! |
![]() | It looked just like the photos. welcome basket of breakfast items plus chilled white wine..nice surprise. super nice Claudia - owner. helped us get settled into apartment. very quiet, location - everything food wise you could want right outside front door. great security. about 20 min. Walk to tourist area. Apt. Is in a "real" neighborhood. felt like we were living in an IKEA showroom, very sweet and bright. |
![]() | softer pillows |
![]() | No problems, easy to stay in touch with the owner for meeting and getting the key. |
![]() | The apartment was very clean. Claudia and her mother were very accomodating as we arrived later than hoped because we missed the bus. It served our needs well in that in did not need to be downtown but was easy to get to places. |
![]() | We did have a problem with some mosquitoes. A sponge for doing dishes. there also was not extra toilet paper we could find. |
![]() | The apt, location and owner were all wonderful. Loved the neighborhood with stores galore, wonderfully friendly, and great apt conveniences. The location was out the city but not far enough that I couldn't catch a bus easily. If you like to walk which I do, I walked everyday back into the heart of Florence which was great exercise. The master bedroom is extremely large and can fit not only two but if there was a baby traveling with you, easily fits another bed or portable sleeping area. |
![]() | The pull out couch need to have a new mattress or egg crate/feather bed added. It was very thin an uncomfortable for my sons. The master is so large I would also consider adding a folding mattress that could be used in that room for a child or additional adult...was truly roomy but not enough comfortable bed space. |
![]() | Great site, and experience was good so far. |
![]() | Where to begin? Claudia’s warm welcome to her modern, new, clean and beautiful apartment. Laundry. The kitchen. The bathroom. The bedroom. Everything we needed was there. The apartment is close to a great market that the locals use and close to several grocery stores. We had some concern that the apartment would be too far away from the city centre, but it’s an easy 15-minute walk on one street to get to the heart of Florence. After spending our days among the tourists, it was great to be surrounded by Italians and have easy access to nice stores and restaurants that locals use. My wife and I travelled in Italy for a month and this apartment was by far the best place we stayed. We’d recommend it to everyone. |
![]() | In this apartment? Nothing. Italy could be closer to Canada so that we could come back and stay in this apartment every summer. |
![]() | Thank you for the help in finding this gem of an apartment. |
