Located in the central neighborhood of El Raval, Lleó Flat has been completely rebuilt inside to create a pleasant and comfortable space. The flat has a big open plan living room / kitchen, with a small balcony off the living room, making it a pleasant area for guests to relax, cook, and eat. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking with stove and microwave, and has some basic cooking supplies. The living room has radio, CD player, TV, and DVD player, and guests also have use of an iron and hair dryer. In the living room is a sofa that folds out into a comfortable queen bed in case of groups of 3 or 4 people. The bedroom is situated at the rear of the flat and has a queen bed. Located on the 1st floor of a typical "finca" (no elevator), the apartment is on a relatively quiet street for Barcelona. Traffic is limited to a few hours a day and there are no bars in this block. El Raval is a traditional "barrio" in the old town, just adjacent to Las Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya, and the Barrio Gòtico and home of the new modern art museums MACBA and CCCB (a 2-minute walk from the apartment). It's well-connected to the rest of the city by public transport, as several metro stops are close by (Universitat, St. Antoni, and Catalunya) as well as buses. The port and the sea are a 20-minute stroll away, and the best beaches for swimming are a 30-minute walk or short bus ride. The neighborhood has recently gone through a phase of renewal, once being considered a downtrodden area, it is now lively and stimulating, full of new designer bars and galleries, offbeat shops and excellent restaurants, which mix with the characteristic local shops and traditional eateries. The recently created new open space in the area, Rambla del Raval, has outdoor cafes and an open air market, and is just a few minutes' walk from the apartment.
