This B&B might seem a bit pricey at first, but sometimes very special things just have a special price...
At Home a Palazzo B&B is many, many things, other than a Bed & Breakfast. It is:
a) a real home, with an extremely sweet couple as hosts who will love to welcome you to their home and treat you like family-- you book a room but they welcome you to their home and common areas (gorgeous sunny living room where breakfast is served)
b) a place where your hosts will put on music for you when serving breakfast, trying to match your musical taste and usually getting it right
c) a place where you will be surrounded by art, history and culture: yes, music for one thing, books (one copy from the sixteenth century!), paintings
d) this is elegant Venice: large windows, light, a 14th Century Gothic palace, the view on the canal (and the islands) and a private boat entrance (a plus for guests arriving from the airport)
Need I say more? Just read through the guestbook... oh, right -- you can't until you get there. I'll give you one hint: You'll find a comment from Yoko Ono Lennon (she was interviewed and filmed right in this living room, too).
At Home a Palazzo truly reflects the best of Venetian homes and lifestyle: opulent wooden ceilings and original flooring, big windows (with spectacular views), silver-service for breakfast… and knowledgeable hosts who still appreciate the art and culture Venice has to offer and still discover new things in their town when they go out for a Sunday stroll.
There are 3 guestrooms, all with private ensuite bathroom. Two of them can be combined to form a 'Junior Suite' or family area. Guests are provided with keys so you are independent.
Situated just a few steps from the 'Strada Nuova', Venice's only real shopping street, which takes you to the train station, and offers anything you might need-- a supermarket, bakeries, cafes and all kinds of different stores. The S. Sofia gondola stop is also just a few minutes away, where you can catch a gondola to be taken across the canal -- for only 50 cents per person!
