Ca' Pierre

Ca' Pierre should get an award for hospitality and the great care they take of their guests!

This large 4-bedroom apartment, furnished with a mix of modern, antique and original Venetian pieces, is located in my absolute favorite part of Venice: a quick walk will take you to San Marco and the Rialto bridge (about 10-15 minutes by foot, and you won't get lost, since you'll be able to take the beautiful shoreline walkway which takes you along the Grand Canal straight to the center). It's completely off the beaten track in a residential area of Venice which is considered truly the 'Venice of the Venetians'. Here, you'll flow with the locals and mostly run into kids playing, people going to work and opening their small shops, rather than tourists. People are extra-nice around here!

The owners like to describe their gem as "charming 1700s design with Murano glass chandeliers, and marble statues; yet you can find the modern comforts of air-conditioning, flat-screen satellite TVs in each bedroom and the living room, and a modern, newly renovated bathroom".

Overall, there are 4 bedrooms that can sleep up to 7 people -- one with a queen-sized bed, two with 2 single beds, and one with 1 single bed. There's one bathroom (with a large shower stall) with double sinks. There's also an open kitchen / living room area with exposed wood beam ceiling and two comfortable sofas. (Note: in case you book for a smaller group, some of the bedrooms might be closed off, as you won't need them!)

You really won't miss anything to make you feel at home here; everything is impeccably clean and well kept. You have a supermarket around the corner; bakeries, groceries, cafes right downstairs (and no rip-off prices! I had a 'Spritz', the traditional Venetian aperitivo, for 1.80 euro and a draft beer for 2 euros, a special pizza made of Kamut flour was only 7 euros!)

The owners, a father and son, are determined to make your stay truly special. At your disposal 24/7, Christian, the dad, is in charge of check-in (instructed by his son and armed with a list of English vocabulary words!) and meets guests at the vaporetto stop, while Lorenzo, the son, takes care of communication via email and phone, since he's the one who speaks English well.

The apartment is in tip-top shape, and Christian and Lorenzo make sure you'll feel spoiled: a welcome basket of fruit, the fridge stocked for your first needs upon arrival and probably after a long trip, slippers, shampoo and soap hotel-style, so you know you can relax.
