This apartment is situated in my favorite niche of Venice: hardly any tourists, and such calm! Situated on a first floor, overlooking a beautiful piazza, you can watch kids play soccer and people meet and chat on the benches from the living room windows... it's everyday, real Venice!
The apartment itself is about 55 square meters, it has a large and bright living room with kitchenette (which can be closed off, like a closet) and a funky interpretation of bathroom facilities: one 'half' of the bathroom (sink and WC) is in a little room cut off from the bedroom, and the other 'half' of it (the shower) is accessed from the living room, next to the kitchen. There is one bedroom and a double sofabed in the living room (the WC part of the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom).
The apartment is simply furnished and rather basic -- in my opinion, a great budget accommodation for someone who wants to enjoy Venice from a genuine location.
Lots of bars, restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries close by, as well as unusual shops and one of Venice's greatest coffee shops, Venezia Caffè, in Calle del Cafetier 6661/A-- they roast their own coffee and ship raw coffee worldwide!
San Marco is about a 10-minute walk (you can walk along the shoreline, very enjoyable scenery and very easy, you won't get lost!). The 'Arsenale' vaporetto stop is also just about a 2-minute walk away.
Riccardo and Arrigo, the managers, are both young Venetian 'adoptees' who take care of three apartments and do all the work themselves.
Please note: Check-in and check-out times as well as the possibility of leaving luggage are flexible if there is no check-in or check-out the same day. Please inquire with your exact dates for details.
