Appartamento Penelope

Appartamento Penelope is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and on a calm street, with a view onto Canal dei Mendicanti. There are two bedrooms (one with queen bed that can also be separated into two single beds if necessary, and one with queen bed and single bed), a living room / kitchen area (with queen-sized sofabed), in a separate area from the bedrooms, and two bathrooms (one with shower stall and the other with a tub with hydromassage). It can sleep up to 7 people.

The apartment has been completely restructured in elegant and typically Venetian style.

The area is very central, just a short walk from Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo, where you can visit the Basilica of the same name and the old "Scuola San Marco", where you can admire the equestrian monument dedicated to Bartolomeo Colleoni. The area is also packed with stores, restaurants, and wine bars, and in just 5 minutes walking you can reach the Rialto bridge and its picturesque market, and in 10 minutes you can be at Piazza San Marco. Additionally, just 3 minutes from the apartment is the boat stop where you can catch a boat to the Murano islands, Burano, Torcello, and Lido, or to the airport Marco Polo, the train station, or Piazzale Roma (for anybody who comes by car and parks at Piazzale Roma, the last point in Venice where you can bring your car).

	This is a beautiful apartment in a reasonable location. It was very clean and spacious.
	After we arrived, the owner would not honor the confirmed price, even after I showed our Cross-Pollinate confirmation. Contact with Cross-Pollinate went unanswered, so we ended up paying the additional money, feeling a bit fleeced in the process. However, we didn't know where else to stay, so we felt we had limited choices.

Update: Since this review was posted, we figured out the issue - the guest was writing to us at the wrong email address and that's why we were not able to sort out the misunderstanding. Also, the apartment is now owner/managed by different people than it was in 2011.
