Rudy Center B & B

Rudy Center B & B is the new Bed & Breakfast opened last year by the owner of Rudy B & B (also on our website since circa 2001!). Both are converted apartments that are on two separate floors of the same building. Both B & Bs have been completely renovated and provided with brand-new furniture, all with private ensuite bathroom. The rooms have TV, mini-fridge, mini-safe, and air-conditioning at an additional fee. A breakfast voucher for a nearby cafè is included and there is a computer in the common area with free Internet, as well as a phone which can be used for incoming calls and to make free calls within Rome. Bicycles are also available for rent upon request. For the most part the furnishings look like they've come straight out of a hotel catalog, but I have to give them a huge applause for keeping both places so well maintained over the years. They definitely have the experience to know how to run their places.

The location is Just a few blocks from the baroque Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, a few blocks south of Termini train station where Metro Line A can take you to the Vatican city, the Spanish Steps, and the Catacombs, or line B which goes the Colosseum (about a 20 minute walk away) and the Circus Maximus. In walking distance is Piazza Vittorio, a multi-cultural park surrounded by large porticoed buildings that housed Rome's government temporarily when it was first moved from Turin. Cool stuff nearby not to be missed is Trattoria Monti on Via di San Vito, one of my favorite restaurants in Rome; the old-school renowed Gelateria Fasi on the other side of Piazza Vittorio; and Panella bakery and café on Via Merulana.
