Unbelievably friendly and warm staff who gladly gave expert travel advice and recommendations that only a Roman would normally be privy to. - Loic Diels

Thanks a lot to Cross-Pollinate for the opportunity to experience a city as an insider! We really enjoyed our stay in Rome and Venice and look forward to more. - Tatiana Marchenko
Cross-Pollinate was very helpful when the owner of the B&B wanted to charge us for the baby under 2 y o. It would have been difficult without them since the owners did not speak any english. - Yulia Pichugina

Cross Pollinate was just the best. I had tried a couple of places before coming upon them. As soon as I sent the first email I stopped looking for any more websites. I just wish they expanded to every city in Europe. Their knowledge, helpfulness, etc. was second to none. - Caroline Collis
Casa Cibella
Casa Cibella is a homey 2-room Bed & Breakfast in Monteverde, a residential neighborhood adjacent to Trastevere. The owner, Carla, split her apartment into two, and she lives on one side and has the two guestrooms on the other side. Each guestroom has a private ensuite bathroom (with shower), TV, and "breakfast corner." The breakfast corner contains a sink, microwave, mini-fridge, electric coffee maker, and dishes/silverware so that guests can prepare themselves breakfast at their leisure when they wake up (Carla leaves food and coffee for a light Italian-style breakfast). While there is no air-conditioning, each room has a ceiling fan so it stays relatively cool even in hot weather. The rooms both face onto the green, quiet courtyard of the building. The B&B is located in a residential neighborhood and has all the conveniences nearby, including an open fruit and vegetable market just around the corner, supermarkets, and shops. It is just a few minutes' walk from beautiful Villa Pamphili, Rome's largest public park. There are many bus stops in the area that will take you into the historic center in about 10-15 minutes, or it is walkable from Trastevere in about 15 minutes.

Reviews
Terrill on May 2011:

The room was lovely. Location was in a nice area, but distant from the attractions of Rome. The best thing was the owner, who was very kind and responsive to our questions and needs. She helped us figure out the bus routes and recommended eating and coffee places nearby.
The included breakfast consisted of crackers and spreads in packages. Unlike Turkey and many other countries, Italy just doesn't have much for breakfast. But other lodgings on our trip offered fresh bread or rolls, fresh fruit, and packaged cheese or butter.
I'm sorry, it was 19 months ago, and I don't remember about the listing or the booking experience and staff. That's why I left those blank.
