When I was first contacted by Honey Rooms I had a look at their site and immediately felt a strong connection between it and our hotel, The Beehive. Then, when I saw it in person and met Anna, the owner, the similarities and coincidences just kept falling into place. Maybe it was just destined that we work together!
Her place is a small, 3-bedroom B & B on the 2nd floor of a more modern building in Monteverde, a bit of a trek into the center, but not too complicated as you just take the nr. 8 tram which runs through Trastevere right into the historic center. It's not the suburbs - but it is a more residential area, very quiet and off the tourist trail. Once inside the apartment building, and in her place, it's like a mini chic-hotel - ultra-clean and simple design mixed with splashes of color and cuteness. It's got everything you'd want in a nice, 3-star hotel room, at much less money, and with a personalized service and an atmosphere that encourages you to socialize with other guests in the little breakfast room.
Anna is totally on the ball - a well-traveled professional with a keen eye for quality and good service and she knows what it's like to travel. She's clearly built her place around what she personally would be comfortable in - which is always a great approach.
