Cappellini B & B

This B&B is extremely convenient if you are coming/going to/from the airport (basically, form where the airport-train stops inside the train station, you only need to walk down two flights of stairs, exit the station, and you're already there! A great relief if you are tired from a long flight and can't wait to reach your accommodation).
It's also convenient for anybody needing to park a car in Rome, as it is very close to a big guarded garage.

Cappellini B & B is a good experience if you consider yourself to be an open-minded, unbiased, curious and relaxed traveller. You get a superclean private room with fridge, A/C, mini-safe, flat-screen TV and private bathroom - for the price of what a bunk in a dorm room would cost in many hostels in Rome. Pasquale, a polite and educated young man of Chinese origin who speaks both Italian and English, recently bought the B&B from its former owners and is working hard to build himself a reputation. He is passionate about the accommodation service he provides and takes great pride in his work.

The area itself gets mixed reviews from people: the location is undeniably great for getting around in the city (with it's proximity to the train station, where you can catch both metro lines and lots of busses), but some people feel not comfortabel staying in what is considered to be Rome's only real ethnical neighborhood: "L'Esquinilino", the neighborhood south of the train station and around Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. Yes, there will probably be trash on the ground, and a bunch of unhappy-looking people hanging around on the corners, but you'll also be able to enjoy great Indian food and Ice-cream at Rome's oldest gelateria - FASSI, just around the corner, where they have hundreds of different types!

This is a good place for a shower, email check, simple breakfast or if you need a rest from the bustling city around you. You might not spend a great amount of time just hanging out there, although it has a unique charm (the furniture and decorations very much reflect the personal style of the owner) and it is clean and well-maintained. You are in the middle of Rome's "Chinatown", and it does feel like it (which, for me at least, is a fun idea!)

Since you will also be saving a bunch of money compared to many other places in the area, you could treat yourself to a great view and a drink at the roof-top terrace at the Radisson SAS Hotel (just a block down from your B&B) Pat yourself on the shoulder for being smart: choosing a budget B&B, and still enjoying some sweet luxury! (what's the cost of the drink compared to a room at the hotel!?)

Note: there is free wifi, but it is only guaranteed in to work in the common area, not the bedrooms.
