Vitelleschi Terrace Apartment
This penthouse apartment has not one, but two balcony views of the city of Rome. The first is from the beautifully gardened terrace, from where guests have a direct view of the dome of St Peter’s Basilica. The second is from a much smaller balcony at the rear of the large, bright kitchen, but one that still offers spectacular views of the rooftops of Rome.

The rest of the modern apartment is just as spacious as the colourful terrace. The open living room (with a TV, two soft, single chairs and one cosy double sofa) leads into the long dining room, and this space is framed on both sides by tall windows that let in light throughout the day. The bright, high-ceilinged master bedroom, highlighted in teal hues, can be set up to provide a large double bed for couples, or two singles for friends and family. But even more welcoming than this clean and modern apartment is Vicky and her brother, who are always smiling and are more than happy to welcome you to Rome, or leave you to your own devices.

The walls of The Vatican City are just a ten-minute walk away from this cheery apartment. But for those who want to cross the beautiful St. Angelo Bridge across the Tiber River and head into the centre of Rome, this can be done on foot in less than twenty-minutes, or by bus from one of the many bus stops that surround the local neighbourhood. The closest metro stop is a ten-minute walk away (Ottaviano), and has direct links to the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and Rome’s main train station (Termini).

getting the water switched to the showerhead was a little tricky
First time to Rome and we were really happy with everything; location, views, cleanliness, owner, etc. Would definitely stay there again

Very comfortable, and decorated by someone with good taste who really lived there. The photographs do no do justice to the nice patio area. Excellent temperature control was appreciated during a hot week in Rome. Good location in a "real" nontouristy neighborhood. Friendly, helpful, and responsive owner. I would absolutely stay here again.
Suggest the owner could invest in a system of bins to separate the different kinds of trash that is separated for the city.
Cross-pollinate came through after several owners on the website (not this one!) had not updated their calendars, and found us this very suitable substitute. I would suggest docking the owners that failed to communicate with Cross-Polinate and failed to update their calendars, as that caused us about a week of anxiety as we were searching for a place to stay.

We loved this place! The owners are so fantastic. It is a lovely apartment in a charming residential neighborhood. The terrace has a view of the dome of St. Peter’s Cathedral. There were four of us, but just prior to departure my older daughter asked if a friend could stay with us for the last two nights. Vicky, the owner, went out and purchased an air mattress so there was room for my daughter’s friend and did not charge us any extra. Fantastic time!
Some issues with plumbing, but the host was VERY responsive.
Love Cross-Pollinate. Will use again.

Great Location, very clean, super base to be in, Great balcony
These guys were very helpful, we missed some small print which gave us a shock when getting in to the property...high Rome taxes and cleaning fee, but the overall experience was very good. I would use them again
Mary Goodell on Sep 2018:

We loved the Vitelleschi Terrace apartment! Vicky greeted us in person and was wonderfully warm, inviting, and informative. The apartment is clean and charming, is in a great location, the beds are super comfortable, closets are roomy. Vicky leaves guidebooks and outlet adapters for guests to use. She also provided us with two sets of keys, which made it so much easier for us to go our separate ways at times. It was a wonderful place to return to after a day of tramping around Rome. Also felt completely safe in the neighborhood.
The wifi was spotty - calls were dropped and downloads took a long time. A small "nice to have" - a bar of soap in the bathroom.
Thank you for promptly and consistently getting back to me and accommodating my many questions and changes. You're the greatest, and I am telling everyone I know about you!
Elaine Johnson on Apr 2015:

The patio, the location, the nearby restaurants, our hostess, the roominess, the value, having a wash machine, the funky elevator. This is a great place to stay.
We did have trouble with the wifi-I think that can be fixed.
I am very satisfied.

Tor on Mar 2014:
- The view on the terrace (which is better than on the pictures) - Nice apartement. - Spaceious - Soundinsulation. On the terrace you will hear trafficnoise, but hardly inside when is closed. - Close to public transport and to old town.
