Appartamento Fabrizi
Tucked away in a private, gated enclosure in the heart of Trastevere, Apartment Fabrizi is an artistic one-bedroom apartment that gives guests the opportunity to live life as the Romans do.

Trastevere literally means ‘beyond the Tiber’ and it’s this closeness and yet separation from the city centre of Rome that has enabled the district to flourish with its own unique culture and food. Popular with expatriates and the young people of Rome, the apartment offers the perfect base for those looking for a quite oasis just minutes away from some of the best restaurants and nightlife in the city.

With bright white walls embellished with endless books and floral decorations, this residential apartment with its private, serene patio reflects the creative and cultured personality of its owner, Floria. A world traveller and teacher, Floria’s open living room and colourful patio are bursting with souvenirs of her own travels. The large windows and perfect positioning of the apartment on one of the hills of Monteverde invite the sunshine in from outside, illuminating the large space. But the queen-sized bed on it’s raised platform offers the perfect place to retire to at the end of a busy day in one of Rome’s liveliest neighbourhoods.

The unique residential setting means that there are two entrances to the gated enclosure, one from above and one from below. Both require either a descent or ascent of rustic winding stone steps, which makes the apartment less suitable for those who require ease of accessibility. But if you don’t mind the steps, you will be treated to a blooming oasis cut off from the eternal city, but close to enough to explore the minute you step outside the gate. In fact, taking the stone steps that ascend from the apartment will lead you in the direction of Terrazza del Gianicolo, one of the most breathtaking viewpoints in Rome.

Really enjoyed our stay at Florias appartment .It is well located in a quiet, really authentic part of Rome. Floria was a fantastic host, really helpful and pointed out the very best things to do in the neighbourhood. The apartment has a small private garden in a lovely historic complex. Would highly recommend. Thanks Floria ... see you again sometime
Linda N on Apr 2017:

The apartment is charming, filled with the owner's artwork and books, and nicely decorated. It also has a small lovely patio filled with flowers. It's situated in a very interesting gated complex and located in a neighborhood with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The owner is very responsive and helpful.

We loved Floria's apartment. It was so well located in a local neighbourhood of Trastevere. The apartment is bright warm and sunny, and beautifully decorated. It was such good value for money and so quiet if you need a haven to withdraw from the bustle of Rome at times. You can stroll to the local piazza for great food and drink with the friendly locals. Floria was so helpful checking we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again if we are able to. Highly recommend this gorgeous apartment. Thanks you so much Floria.

Rebecca on Jul 2016:

The apartment was in a serene location, which was a perfect haven from the busy and loud streets of Rome. It was clean, perfectly located, and well stoked. Additionally, Floria was an incredibly kind and gracious host. She was flexible with check-in and -out times, and helped arrange a taxi for us. All the facilities worked perfectly, and the WIFI was great (sometimes a big struggle in Rome). Loved staying here and would highly recommend.
Nothing.

In october 2015 I spent some lovely days in appartamento Fabrizi. The appartement is very cosy, well located (Trastevere), the architecture of the whole building is very interesting and there is no noise at all. What I want to mention is the friendliness of the owner, Floria, who made us feel at home. Thank you, we will certainly come back, ci vediamo!
There's nothing I didn't like!!!
Lynette Turner on Sep 2015:

The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. It was especially nice to have a small outdoor area to enjoy when at the apartment.
Cross-Pollinate were easy to book with and having the option to also arrange an airport transfer to the apartment was terrific as the driver was already aware of where we were going.

Appartamento Fabrizi was truly an oasis that we loved. It has a lot of sunshine and the pictures are very accurate in capturing it's atmosphere. There is also a beautiful little patio/garden cared for by the owner. Location is away from traffic up a series of steps. Kitchen is fully furnished and towels/internet/tv/music/etc. provided. Best of all, the owner was so genuinely nice and helpful! Very thorough and the place was well prepared for us. Thank you!
There was one night that one of the neighbors had a get together and people talked in the hallway for a long time and in the middle of the night. Not really Appartamento Fabrizi's fault and it was only one night. Otherwise, the place was very quiet and peaceful.
Great site and I plan to use again.
Adele Pottenger on Aug 2014:

The apartment is in a great position and presents an opportunity to live in a beautiful space full of fascinating mementos of the owner's travels. Floria was a warm and friendly host.
First time using Cross-Pollinate and they were excellent.
Los Angeles Visitor on Jul 2014:

We stayed four days in this wonderful compact apartment. It is filled with interesting art and has a convenient kitchen with dish washer and clothes washer. The location was excellent and near restaurants and shops. We could use the WiFi for our business work or go out for sight seeing in the crowds and then return to the quiet and beauty of the neighborhood. There was a heat wave in Rome and so we were grateful for the full apartment air conditioning. The care taker of the complex met us and was quite helpful.
I recommend Cross-Pollinate for their accurate and helpful service.
Mike on Jun 2014:

My wife and I enjoyed Apartment Fabrizi. We were there for 9 nights starting June 16, 2014. The apartment is small by U.S. standards (probably average for Rome) but perfectly functional with a full kitchen (including dishwasher and washing machine) central AC, wi-fi, a living room area, and a large screen Apple computer in the bedroom loft. The unit is on the ground floor but has complete privacy since all the windows look out onto a fully enclosed terrace garden area that Floria has developed. The Trastevere neighborhood was a lot of fun, with neighbors meeting during the day and kids playing at the Piazza San Cosimoto playground, and a very active nightlife with, what seemed like, an unlimited number of eating establishments. The apartment is up a hill about 3 blocks from where the night action starts, so it's dead quiet at night. Apartment is also only a 5 minute walk to Bus 75, which takes you through the Ancient Rome area to Termini station, where you can catch the Metro and many other bus routes. The only minor drawback to the apartment for us older folks was the loft bed (which is clearly described in the online description) which we found tough to navigate at night without having a light on somewhere. A small night light illuminating the stairs would have helped. Floria, the owner, was very gracious, speaks perfect English, and was very responsive to any questions we had. A very nice experience overall.
Night lite to illuminate the loft-bed stairs at night.
Cross-Pollinate was very responsive on any issue and ordered our excellent car service to the airport.

Floria is an absolute gem, with a wealth of wisdom to dispense on seeing Rome. She has tour books and maps handy, as well as a power adapter for international tourists such as myself. Her apartment is quite large, with a beautiful garden, a large living room, and a cozy bedroom. The Trastevere neighborhood where her apartment is located isn't right on top of all the action, but it's walkable to and from the major sights. All in all, I think it was a great place to stay, and Floria really goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. And I needed it: My luggage was delayed for two days; both my phone and computer ran out of juice in that time; and the wedding I was going to in northern Italy was canceled before happening again! Floria really helped a lot in terms of dealing with all the emergency logistics that plagued the start of my trip.
I don't think this comment is for improving the apartment. Rather, I want to note to those considering Appartamento Fabrizi who have mobility issues that there are stairs involved with getting in and out of the apartment complex.
The Cross-Pollinate team has been outstanding. I booked last minute during high season, and most of my choices were already taken. Cross-Pollinate did everything they could to find me a place to stay in multiple cities in Italy, and they found me wonderful spots. I can't praise their hard work on my behalf enough.
on May 2014:

Perfect location! Great for exploring Trastavere and central Rome, but not so close to the touristy centre that we couldn't get away from the crowds. Comfy bed, well-stocked kitchen and gorgeous patio.
We were told upon arriving that the wifi was broken, which was frustrating – we had planned to do more research online from the apartment, as well as work in the mornings. The wifi remained offline the whole 5 days we were there, and we weren't able to access the net at nearby bars either.
Great!
Admin on 10. May 2014:
Re the wifi, the owner says that when it went out the guest said not to worry about it as they weren't planning on using it, so she didn't try to fix it until they left. At that point it took only 15 minutes - needed just to be reset!
Jane Cook on Apr 2014:

The location was lovely, the apartment very spacious and well equipped and the owner thoughtful and generous with her time and support.
efficient, courteous and helpful
Marcello on Sep 2013:

The apartment is in a nice neighborhood in the Trastevere area of Rome, at very short walking distance from grocery shops, restaurants and bars. The owner and the doorman were very helpful. The apartment is really cozy, we felt at home. We would surely repeat the experience.
The staff of Cross-Pollinate was helpful and efficient, I will use the website again.
Nadine & Olaf on Sep 2013:

Lovely decorated flat, beautiful neighbourhood, quiet, perfect location for everybody who likes to walk. Only 30 minutes each to St. Peter´s, Piazza Navona or Colosseum. Liked breakfast on the terrace, green everywhere.
Floria was wonderful, she was so kind and friendly. She picked us up at the tram station, gave us useful tips about day life in Rome and night life in Trastevere.
Zsuzsa on May 2013:

The apartment is at the perfect place of Rome: 5 minutes walk from Trastevere center (which is my favourite district of the city), but already on a very quiet street, up on a hill, full of trees. The building doesn't open from the street, but from an idyllic garden, which makes it more romantic and unique. Really I can't imagine a better location in the city! The flat is very lovely, bright and clean, with tasteful furniture. We loved it! It's so good to arrive home after a long day of visiting the city in such a neat and comfortable flat! If you don't want to eat in restaurant, it's ideal for cooking and dining at home. Plus there's a fantastic organic cheese shop (and a lot of caffeterias and pizzerias) in 5 minutes walk. The owner is friendly and speaks english perfectly.
It's perfect as it is!
Everything went fluently, the owner was helpful and friendly.
Jonie on May 2013:

The location was perfect! It is picturesque and just beautiful. The patio is private and covered with plants and flowers. Also, the flat was quiet at night, and we were able to walk all over Rome to the various sites during the day. We chose not to take mass transit, but stops are close by for those who choose to do so.
nothing! The owner of the flat, Floria, was the best! She met us at the bus stop, which is only a block from the flat, then took time to show us around the neighborhood, pointing out her favorite markets, shops, restaurants, etc. She also provided maps for our use and a bottle of wine!
great! I'm so glad I found this site in Rick Steves' book. It was easy to use, had great recommendations, and the staff was so helpful, responding right away to my questions.
