Appartamentino Merulana

This studio apartment is located between the Baroque church Santa Maria Maggiore and the Basilica of Rome, San Giovanni, on the southern side of Termini train station where the multi-ethnic neighborhood of Esquilino becomes the more fashionable/ historic neighborhood of Monti. It's very well- connected to the metro and bus lines and a short walk to Termini train station and Colosseum and Roman Forum. The studio is located on the ground floor in the interior of a large, historic building. Since it doesn't face the street, the bright side is that it's much quieter than many other apartments in Rome that get street noise. It also remains cool in the summer since there isn't direct sunlight. The downside though is that it's a bit closed off and there is only one internal window that doesn't let in much light. However, it's a good amount of space for the price, and since the sleeping area is located in a loft area, a living room area is created below. There's a small bathroom with a VERY small shower. The sleeping area has a small double (120 cm) and single bed. The apartment can sleep 1 or 2 people. There are no kitchen facilities but there is a mini-fridge. For the price, it's a good option for someone who would prefer the privacy and extra space of a studio rather than staying in a B & B.
