Appartamento Baccina
This one bedroom apartment is located in the historic, fashionable quarter of Monti, where much of Woody Allen's "To Rome With Love" was shot. It's within walking distance of both Termini station and the Colosseum/Roman Forum, and located on the first floor of a residential building (with elevator) in the inner courtyard of the building, so it's QUIET - even though right outside is the vibrant neighborhood of Monti.

The apartment (55 square meters), has a bedroom with queen-sized bed, chest of drawers, closet, chair, air-conditioning and a window facing onto the inner courtyard of the building. The living room has a queen-sized sofabed, TV, DVD player, chairs, air-conditioning, and a large window/door. The kitchenette has fridge/freezer, stove, and basic cooking implements. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, and a small window. The whole apartment has independent heating and is quiet and bright. It can sleep up to 5 people, as there is also the option of an extra fold-out single bed. It's a 5-minute walk to the Metro (line B) so it's easy to get around the city.

Overall, the place feels newly restored with good, quality materials and workmanship. The only downside is that it is used only as a vacation rental and lacks a bit of homeyness, and the owners, to keep the costs down, are not able to well stock things like toilet paper and kitchen essentials. If those drawbacks aren't a deal breaker, and you appreciate a hip, historic location, and a good amount of space, this place is very worth the money.

Just about everything, but in particular the tranquility of the internal courtyard location of the apartment. This was our second stay here. We liked it so much the first time that we wanted to return when we were going to be back in Rome again.
A minor quibble, but the larger of the the two moka pots for coffee preparation is too worn to work properly and should probably be replaced.
I've been very satisfied in my experiences using Cross-Pollinate.

The apartment was in a great location and a very nice secure building. The ammentites in the apartment were good. Arranging for keys was made easy.
Very strong mold smell near washer/dryer. Mold in shower. Many outlets and light switches didn't seem to work. Very limited towels were provided. No paper products like toilet paper or paper towel were supplied, just a used dirty sponge and towel were found in the kitchen. Floors were not very clean, our feet got dirty walking on them. Curtains provided very limited limited privacy from courtyard/walkway outside.
Cross-Pollinate was very helpful in arranging our extra night at this apartment.

Loved the neighborhood, and Taverna Romana restaurant nearby, the piazza, and nearness to sites such as Piazza Venezia and the Forum. This spacious apartment is in what may be a condominium complex, opening onto a large, quiet inner courtyard that had well-tended flower beds.
When we arrived, there were NO CURTAINS on the bedroom windows, therefore, no privacy, and no way to block the courtyard lights. It took several phone calls to get someone out to re-install the curtain rods, which had torn off the wall some time previously. We searched for and found the curtains, which were dirty, and in tatters. Cleaning equipment was put away wet, and the smell of mildew was obnoxious. Kitchen floor was grimy and sticky. Shower leaked profusely. Mattress has seen better days. Washing machine, while new, had no instructions available. What equipment instructions there were covered equipment that was not present. Refrigerator was not secured in its built-in cabinet, which resulted in it constantly dripping, not being cool enough to safely keep food, and useless for frozen food, as the freezer compartment was a block of ice.
Local staff tried their best to contact owner, and seek remedies. Steve was helpful in obtaining some financial offset. "Price/Value" rating would have been higher were there not so many negatives.

Absolutely a great neighborhood! Lots of shops and cafes with a nice, local feel. Other places in Rome were not so friendly to tourists. Great location for seeing the city and handy to transportation. People meeting us were extremely patient as we arrived late, and it is a very secure building. Definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to return to Rome.
At the time of our stay the shower was leaking so the floor was always wet. Hopefully all has been repaired by now! Maybe a text during the stay to confirm that all was fine.
I found the site easy to use and any questions I had were answered promptly. I trust that all their accommodation is equally as good.

The location was excellent, the man in the lobby was so friendly, it had the basics we needed in the apartment.
The local person who was to meet us to let us in was an hour late so we began to wonder if they were coming as we only had an e-mail and no phone number locally. We would have liked her to have better English, we could hardly understand her. The door locked on us when we went out and she had not shown us how to use the key so we had to ask a neighbour as it was tricky to use. The hide a bed was not comfortable.
I would use it again but would want to hear what others thought of it first and would want someone with better English to meet us initially.

Location is fantastic, very comfortable and quiet little place in a residential building living amongst real locals not tourists. Especially liked the entry off a small private courtyard.
The photos make the place look bigger than it is but it is perfect for a couple, group of friends or small family. Other than that no complaints at all.
Wonderful! Met promptly for exchange of keys even though my flight was delayed the person who me us was very flexible and communicative.
