Studio Jolie Rêverie

Owned by the same family as the Studio Malte, this apartment is located on the 5th floor and has a cute view of the Rue Malte below and the metro station Oberkampf. When you enter the apartment there is a bathroom with shower to your right, then down a hallway with ample closet space there's a small kitchen with microwave and small fridge. The kitchen overlooks the living room area, which has a table that seats 4 and a desk with internet access (cable hookup). The sleeping area is tucked away around the corner. Having stayed in this apartment myself, I can recommend it highly -- it's quiet, ultra-clean, and comfortable, and it feels great to wake up there in the morning and open the blinds, letting the sun come through those large windows.

As for the area, the 11th might be my favorite - you can walk into the Marais from there, it's well-connected by a number of subway lines (as is all of Paris) and it's not elbow-to-elbow tourists. It's this strange mix of blue-collar with all sorts of unpretentious, cool restaurants and cafes.
