Suite Rex
The single guestroom, Studio Rex, is on the 2nd floor of an historic Haussmann building. The room, with single or double bed, has its own dedicated bathroom outside the bedroom. Guests are hosted by Michele, a young Italian who also runs Adam's Suite (also on Cross-Pollinate) who will probably infect you with his passion for Paris and his good taste.
About the area:
Once dubbed "Pig Alley" by Allied soldiers of WWII, Pigalle, located on Montmartre, is one of the world's most well known areas for naughtiness. The area around "Place Pigalle" is touristed by those who want to experience Paris by night: topless shows, peep shows, and sex shops abound in the area that birthed the infamous Moulin Rouge . The neighborhood also has a rich artistic history due to its liberal, risqué attitude: both Picasso and van Goch had lived here and Toulouse-Lautrec had his art studio here. Today one can see Salvador Dalí work at the "Espace Dali" or see the old Grand Guignol Theatre, closed in the 1960's. In contrast to this, the 9th Arrondissement is the site for the original Opera (the Opera Garnier) as well as the Boulevard Houssmann and department stores such as Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, a heaven for foodies with an entire floor dedicated to gourmets. At the north end, the 9th joins the eclectic and village-like Montmarte, home of the beautiful and imposing Sacré-Cœur, while St. Lazare, made famous by the impressionists and drunken Henry Miller wanderings, is to the West.
