David's Flat

The pictures below do a good job of conveying how bright and clean this studio apartment is. When you walk in you have a large rectangular studio crossing in front of you. To one side you have the couch/sitting area, bathroom with shower and a small kitchenette. To the other side, and separated by an open bookshelf is the bedroom, desk and closet area. Everything is clean and white or light, natural wood. It is well lit and simple enough to not feel cluttered but has enough small touches (like plants, etc) to feel welcoming. There is also a TV, internet, and phone. Great for someone who likes simple, clean design and wants to escape the chaotic night scene of neighborhoods that are more sought after at night. The location, Montparnasse, is an easy subway ride away from all tourist attractions, and has a good local vibe of cheap cafes and restaurants, while at night being pretty calm and peaceful. Although no longer the heart of the intellectual and artistic left-bank life as it was in 'les annés folles' (the crazy years), you are still in the neighborhood that was the stomping ground of Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce and Jean Cocteau and can always take a stroll down the pre-war heyday at the Musée du Montparnasse on Avenue du Maine.
