This 2 bedroom apartment is located in Bairro de São Bento, next to Praça do Príncipe Real and Lisboin's Botanical Gardens which makes it great for kids as Principe Real has a nice size garden and playground. From here you can walk to the Bairro Alto (famous for its nightlife) in about 5 minutes as well as the old 28 tram line which takes you down through Chiado and up to the Castle above Alfama. It's also a short walk to the Rato and the Baixa-Chiado metro stations, so if you want to go further out (to Belém or to the train station to Sintra or Cascais), it's pretty painless.

There are two bedrooms - one with a double bed and one with a set of bunk beds. In the living room there is also a double fold out and a single fold out bed - so 7 people in total can be accommodated. There's a washing machine (drying is done on the line in the sun), a full kitchen and TV. Internet is provided by way of a keycard that costs 10 euro for the first 10 hours and then 1 euro per hour. Perfect for laptops, but won't broadcast a signal for tablets or phones.

The flat is taken care of by Jose, a young tour guide at "We Hate Tourism Tours". A super friendly guy who knows his city well, he's a great local contact to have as a host.
