Pigneto House

This youthful Bed & Breakfast is located on two different floors of the same small, typically Roman apartment building. Each apartment has 2 guestrooms, 1 shared bathroom, and a common room where guests are welcome to relax with a book, chat, and use the Internet on the B&B owners' computer (pay per use) or with their own laptop computers using the free wireless connection. The rooms are simply but attractively decorated and have TV and fan. Breakfast is served in the common room in winter, and in the summer on the outdoor terrace surrounded by bougainville. The B&B is on a small street with very little traffic, so the rooms stay quiet. The neighborhood Pigneto, while off the beaten track, is an interesting area of Rome that's just starting to become fashionable and sought-after. Famous Italian directors Pier Paolo Pasolini and Roberto Rossellini shot their films in this neighborhood in the '40s and '50s. The historic center of Rome and most of the tourist sights are about 25-30 minutes by bus or tram, so this B&B is recommended for those who are spending a few days in the city and want to get a taste of what life is like in a residential part of Rome.
