Cross-Pollinate are great - the descriptions are accurate and they are very responsive to questions. - Dominique Bayne
Cross Pollinate was just the best. I had tried a couple of places before coming upon them. As soon as I sent the first email I stopped looking for any more websites. I just wish they expanded to every city in Europe. Their knowledge, helpfulness, etc. was second to none. - Caroline Collis
Casa Corsi
Casa Corsi is a charming 3-bedroom guesthouse located in the center of Florence, less than a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 10-minute walk from the historic center. This guesthouse is a truly family-run operation, with Signora Roberta checking in guests and taking care of the cleaning, her husband doing repairs and maintenance work, and her three adult children each lending a hand in different areas -- one does the computer work, one speaks several languages and helps with checking in foreign guests, and another (an agriculture student) takes care of the garden. The guesthouse was recently restructured and boasts a corridor with the exposed original brick and stones from the Arno river. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with 1940s marble flooring which was carefully conserved during the restoration. The guesthouse has 2 bathrooms (with shower, no tub). They can be shared by the 3 rooms, or upon request one of the rooms can have a private bathroom (as it's possible to access the bathroom directly from the room) for an extra cost. There is also a common area with terra cotta floors, a large table, and a kitchen that guests can use to prepare meals. The kitchen has a large picture window looking out onto the inner garden of the building, and in the summer guests can relax at the tables outside and enjoy the fresh air surrounded by laurel trees. The guesthouse has the advantage of being naturally cool in the summer and warm in the winter, as it's located on the ground floor of a very old stone building. The guesthouse also offers WiFi, a TV in the common room, use of iron, use of washing machine, and a telephone in the common room to make local calls or to receive calls. For an additional 2.50 Euros per person per night, the owners offer a breakfast voucher for a nearby cafè -- they can be purchased upon arrival at the guesthouse.

Bruno Simões on Nov 2018:

First of all, let me thank Mrs Roberta Corsi for the hospitality and the very useful tips in terms of touristic places in Florence, especially the restaurants. Also the map was very helpful. The inner garden is lovely and a very pleasant place to be. Excellent quality/price ratio, the room had all the comfort I needed to have a very good night sleep.
Some minor issues regarding the shower.
Everything went well, good communication and quick confirmation.
Nancy Bigleow on Sep 2018:

The big kitchen. It was quiet. There was a garden patio in the back.
The price was not what we expected. There was an additional charge of 40 Euros to have our own bathroom. The toilet was archaic with an unusual flush system that required manual cleaning after a solid waste deposit.
John Delucchi on Sep 2017:
Our host Roberta was extremely friendly. She let us check in early and made us cappuccino while we waited for our room to be ready. She also gave us great suggestions for food and sightseeing. Highly recommend.
Katy on Jul 2017:

Roberta and Martina were both there to welcome us, provided great recommendations for local trattorias and sights, and made us feel incredibly at home. We saw Roberta there on most days and she did everything she could to make us feel cared for.
Use the screens and mosquito repellent! It can get quite bitey in the summer in the bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise nothing - this was a pretty minor issue.
Great preparatory emails and organization of info.
Roberta McCann on Jan 2017:

A good location. Roberta Corsi has succeeded in providing a very warm and welcoming environment. My room was nicely appointed, no traffic noise, and it was great having the use of the kitchen and a designated shelf in the refrigerator. Casa Corsi is very secure and importantly, as a single woman traveling on my own, I felt very safe.
Painless and stress free. Good listing options. Very responsive to every issue and question that arose. Highly recommend and I will defintely not hesitate in using the service for any fujture travel. Thanks so much Cross-Pollinate.
Cynthia Hecox on Jan 2017:

Location! Less than 5 minutes from the train station, and convent walk to all major sites. Can't forget to mention the owner Roberta.
I doubt that all the ringing of the front door could be changed, it seems like the b & b shares a front door with another B& B. It's basic accommodations but I found it served our purpose quite well and Roberta was more than welcoming.
Very efficient, I was given a couple of choices and I'm perfectly happy with my choice to stay at Casa Corsi.
Lucy on Dec 2016:

I had a great time. Great location and very helpful people. I found my room very clean and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend Casa Corsi to friends visiting Florence.
I'm really pleased I found this website. It made planning my trip much easier.
Amelia Bales on Jul 2016:

The beautiful room, the wonderful hostess, and the accessibility to sites. I was given a better room than I had booked since she had no other guests and was so pleased with the accessibility, cleanliness, and beauty of the place. She was very helpful with information when I needed and so kind.
Easy to use and always informative
Miky on Jul 2016:

The guesthouse was very close to the train station and close to most everything else. It was surprisingly quiet considering the location and was as described in the listing. The host, Federica, lives on-site, so was available for any information needed, like how to use the washing machine, and also gave a great recommendation for a neighborhood eatery. The garden looked lovely, but the mosquitoes were out, so we didn't get to use it since we are mosquito magnets.
As described, the guesthouse did not have aircon, but didn't really need it even though it was so hot outside. . . a fan would have been nice though to circulate the cooler evening air into the room.
As always, my experience w/cross-pollinate was top notch. Always recommend to my friends!
Jackie on Jun 2016:

This place was darling/charming! Our bathroom was clean and the host was very accommodating and kind. We loved staying here! The garden is GORGEOUS!
The floors weren't that clean. Not awful, but definitely couldn't go barefoot in our room.
loved it! did get an email saying we HAD to check in at a certain time, then come to find out the host/manager lives at the location and could have accommodated a later check in no problem. so that was a little disappointing as we had some changes in our travel plans but worked hard to change them again to check in at the time we agreed upon. not a big deal, just wish we wouldn't have gotten the notification from cross-pollinate that we HAD to be there at a certain time.
Jason Gruber on Apr 2016:

Federica was accommodating and helpful! She answered all my questions, helped me figure out the washing machine, and was generally a very pleasant host. The room was nice and very convenient: right by the Santa Maria Novella train station, an easy ten minute walk from the heart of Florence.
Smooth sailing. Didn't have any problems.
Susan McKee on Apr 2016:

it was VERY CLEAN, location great and Hostess TREMENDOUS! Fredrica was always working to tidy the place but always available to answer questions or help in anyway.
Casa Corsi is a great location and value in Florence. The property is very clean and Hostess attentive to needs. Will highly recommend. SM
Grace Scarfo on Oct 2015:

Roberta was sweet and helpful. She gave us great references for local eating spots.
During my stay in Italy I stayed in 3 Cross-Pollinate locations. All worked out very well.
Laurine Valentine-Dabbs on Oct 2015:

The lovely guest house is very private and comfortable, featuring a nice table and chairs and refrigerator within the spacious room. Perfect for picking up small items like wine and cheese and bread and eating in the room. The garden also was very private a nice. Location was very close walk to train station and Santa Maria Novella Church. The walk to the Duomo isn't to far either so we walked everywhere and found the location perfect.
The lighting in the room was very dim and needed bulbs replaced. But this was our only complaint.
William Corry on Sep 2015:

Lovely Lady, very comfortable, very convenient to train station
I was expecting a B & B, there was coffee provided but nothing else for breakfast?
No complaints
Admin on 25. Sep 2015:
I'm not sure why the guest was expecting breakfast, as Casa Corsi is listed as a guesthouse and not a B&B. It says in the amenities that guests have use of kitchen but it does not say that breakfast is included.
Kathryn on Nov 2014:

Stayed November 2014 Roberta was lovely and allowed me to stay 2 extra nights at short notice. The room was clean and comfortable. The location is great, the apartment was a few minutes walk from the train station and also very close to the Duomo and sights nearby. I definitely recommend Casa Corsi and would stay the next time l am in Florence.
Nothing, all is good.
Natasha on Jun 2015:

The property was as advertised. Anna came and met us at the train station to guide us back, and was very understanding when our train was running quite late. She also took quite a bit of time to make sure we were well oriented and to answer our questions. We did not spend very much time with Roberta, but the little bit that we did she was quite lovely.
The one thing we were not as pleased about was that the door in the kitchen was kept open, so there were often flies and other bugs flying about, and due to this we chose not to cook, but this was purely a matter of personal preference, the kitchen was otherwise quite clean. Also, as others said, wifi did not work well in the rooms, but it worked well in the common areas so that was not a problem.
It was excellent, we enjoyed our stay at all of the cross-pollinate properties we stayed at. Would highly recommend them.
Alexander and Eric Zupancic on Jul 2015:

This is a great hostel with really nice staff. We had stayed at the Beehive in Rome- which we also loved and Casa Corsi was their recommendation. This hostel has a great location and is clean and has good vibe. The staff were excellent!! Very helpful and told us about sights to go see. We would definitely stay here again.
This proved easy to use and a site we could trust. The people who run it are knowledgeable and trustworthy. I recommended it to my friends and family. Will definitely use in the future.
Sheila on May 2015:
Casa Corsi is in an excellent location, a few minutes' walk from the train station and within walking distance of all the major sights of Florence. The owner, Roberta, couldn't have been more helpful in making our stay in Florence a pleasant experience. It was also a bonus to have access to a washing machine and kitchen facilities.
Robin Adeney on May 2015:

Host Roberta was very friendly and welcoming and provided help with directions to various sites. We arrived early and appreciated being able to leave our luggage and explore the town. The garden at the back of the guest house is an oasis of calm and quiet if you need a break from the bustle of the town. We purchased meat, cheese, bread and beer and had a lovely picnic in the garden. The guest house was clean, the room was lovely with a comfortable bed and bedding and the price affordable! The location, close to the train station and walkable as well as easy to find was extremely helpful.
I think the name "Bed and Breakfast" is misleading as it sounds like a breakfast is provided. It would be better to call this a guest house. The darkness of the facility - you enter via the busy street and pass through two locked doors before opening the door to your room. I think the lights are on timers. Once we had adjusted to this we were fine with it.
Excellent service and we appreciated that the accomodations listed had been reviewed and approved by Cross-Pollinate. Thank you for a lovely stay in Florence and also at the Beehive in Rome!
Terry on May 2015:

Owner was patient and very helpful. Very quiet location, kitchen and laundry services available.
A bit warm at night as it was almost +30 during the day. No AC remote control in room.
Great communication
Mama on Apr 2015:

Roberta was incredibly helpful and arranged for the comfort of our children, as well as keeping luggage for us. We felt like we were staying with family.
Very helpful to go with confidence to a place that is vetted for you.
Andrew on Oct 2014:

The place was conveniently located between central town, station (2 mins walk) and the river. The owner, Roberta, was wonderful, made me feel very welcome and had some excellent advice about florence. The rooms were quiet and comfortable.
I found the team very helpful and would book with them again based in my experience of rome and Florence and would highly recommend them to others.
on Jul 2014:

I stayed at Casa Corsi for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it! Unfortunately Roberta (the owner) was out of town, but she had her daughter, Laura, and a friend, Anna, taking care of the place. Both Anna and Laura speak very good English and are both very helpful with insider tips and directions. I was given my own set of keys to my room as well as the building so I could come and go as I pleased! Some previous comments mentioned the bad internet signal but that's only if you stay in the guest house in the yard away from the main building. Even if that is the case there is a comfortable couch to sit on in the common area where the internet signal is perfect.
This is not an improvement, I just put this comment here so that people will read it. IT IS IMPORTANT! The reservation will tell you to email your time of arrival. This is not a recommendation, it should be done. The owner and helpers do not live on the premise so they need to know what time to meet you at the building. If you do no let the owner know your time of arrival no one will be there to meet you and you won't be able to get into the building.
Love it! Will use it again in the future!
Sean on Jun 2014:

Roberta is very friendly and the guesthouse is gorgeous. It's five minutes from the train station and the best sites in Florence are only a bus ride or a short walk away. The facilities were more than adequate and the garden out back is beautiful too!
There was a washer but all clothes have to air dry (there are drying racks out back thought)
exceptional as always
Briana Spiker on Apr 2014:

Service. We arrived on time and were greeted by staff who speak English. The service is excellent and it is very convenient to the train station, food (we were hungry upon arrival), the tourist spots were all within walking distance, and we left our luggage at checkout and picked it up before we left that day for the train ride to Pisa. No charge. We only spent one night, but slept, showered, and ate well. I'd stay here again.
Cross-Pollinate needs to be cloned, so patent your process. Staff were excellent in helping us locate convenient, affordable, comfortable places to stay in Venice, Florence, and Rome. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for affordable lodging.
Sue Martyn on Apr 2014:

Convenient to SM Novella station and a little removed from the tourist hordes. Very convenient to have use of washing machine and kitchen. Garden looked lovely but we were never there in daytime to enjoy it - maybe more in summer evenings.
Apart from check-in time we saw no staff, so could not ask advice etc. Beds not the best in terms of comfort, but not a big deal.
All good.
KD on Apr 2014:

We stayed in large clean and spacious room, about 20 ft from main building. Bed linen, towels and bathroom was clean. The pantry was well equipped with utensils, and essential supplies like milk, sugar, coffee, oil, salt and pepper. One of the mornings, we made breakfast and had it in the little garden outside. Roberta was very hospitable and loving lady. Also we like its proximity to train station.
Since the room we stayed in, was away from main building, the WIFI signals was weak. But internet worked fine, as we came in main building.
Very satisfied with Cross-Pollinate.
Steve Dryden on Apr 2014:

Very great value for location.
WIFI bandwidth was slow.
on Oct 2013:

cupboards full of breakfast treats and an espresso machine! Hanging out with the other travellers in the kitchen.
Wi-Fi was very spotty. Being on the ground floor of an apartment complex, there were some nights when the upstairs neighbors were very noisy.
Cross-Pollinate staff are very responsive to all requests and questions - a joy to work with.
Jill Unruh-Philadelphia on Oct 2013:

This cute B&B was well-located just steps away from the SMN train station. Easy walking access to everything we wanted to visit. Clean and charming and the accommodations perfectly matched the websites description.
Wi-fi connectivity
Cross -Pollinate was wonderfully helpful in every way imaginable. This Included prompt e-mails back and forth to assist, and a recommendation to another affiliate when they could not find a room for us in Paris. Steve and staff were spectacular and I am recommending to family and friends! They made our 2 weeks in Europe a fabulous experience!!!!
Ellen on Oct 2013:

Lisa was very helpful with directions and recommendations for places to eat. Her mother Roberta helped us get reservations for the Uffizzi with very little notice. The back garden was a lovely place to chill and the room and bathroom were spotless.
not sure there is anything to be done, the tile floors and long hallways made for a noisy corridor late at night when other guests came in.
so easy and so quick, I have already recommended this to several friends and clients.
J Bales on Oct 2013:

Roberta was great & very hospitable. The recommendation of a local restaurant was so good we went back multiple times! Enjoyed the garden and the central location. Love Florence!
No complaints...
Excellent customer service... as advertised!
Karen Cunningham on Aug 2013:

Host was excellent and very helpful. Offered coffee/cappuccino when we arrived and a map of the city which was very helpful.
Directions to the apartment. It took us over an hour in the area driving around and around because the street names change every block for the same street and we did not know that. Google insisted we could go down a one way street to get there, and our other maps were not at all helpful. Once we finally found the place, we bought a GPS just to help out with our further travels!
Cross Pollinate was excellent in changing our reservation to a place where I did not have to go up a flight of stairs with no elevator, as was using crutches and/or wheelchair which was unplanned when I booked our travel arrangements.
Rachel H. on Jun 2013:

A wonderful guesthouse in Florence! Roberta, the owner, is so sweet and welcoming and made sure we were comfortable the entire stay. Such a good location, steps from the main train station, with great trattorias around the corner. Lovely, safe, and beautiful space. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Michelle on Jul 2013:
I loved the hospitality of our host Liza. We loved the Garden room and the little garden.
Laura Wenzel on Jun 2013:

I liked the quaintness of the place and Roberta is one of the sweetest ladies! She truly made the experience of staying at Casa Corsi a joy. I wish I would have planned more than one night....
Very good. I would not hesitate to use your services again.
on Jun 2013:

Roberta was so sweet, greeted us at the door with cool refreshments. The location is prime, right near the train station and so close to all of the beauty of Florence.
Cross-Pollinate was great! Thank you for helping us find the perfect place to stay.
Chatiron on May 2013:

Roberta was very nice with us. Location is quite good to visit Firenze.
bathroom and toilets are in the same room. So it is not easy to have a place when the guesthouse is full.
Bret on May 2013:

Roberta was just wonderful! Kind and helpful, she greeted us with cookies and coffee and let us know that the kitchen was free to use as was the high-efficiency washing machine. The guest house was just great with fresh white linens and towels, a new bathroom and shower. Clean and fresh and light. The proximity to the train was perfect and easy to find. The lovely garden outside the guesthouse was quiet and peaceful. Roberta's daughter, Alisa (sp?) was enthusiastic and energetic. We talked while she tended the garden. She speaks English very well! We are home in Massachusetts now ,and after visiting other places in Italy, the Casa Corsi remains a highpoint for us. We hope to visit again sometime.
Before we left for our trip, we were a bit apprehensive. Booking things online for places unknown can always cause some trepidation, but our concerns were allayed and we are now happy loyal fans! Everything went smoothly, thanks to everyone involved from the taxi driver who met us at the airport to the homeowners of the two places we stayed. We'll definitely use cross-pollinate again!
YOUNG on May 2013:
The room is very clean and the garden of the B & B is awesome! The host and her family are very nice and helpful! Location is excellent! Enjoyed the stay!
Tammi on Apr 2013:
Roberta, our hostess, was outstanding! Her english was excellent and she made us feel welcome with coffee and biscuits when we arrived. The triple guest house was very quaint and confortable - walking through the garden to get there with the blooming Magnolia tree was specacular. Super close to the train station and walking distance to everything. One of our favorite places on the trip!
Shannon on Mar 2013:

Roberta is very kind and gracious. She makes you feel right at home. The location although not right in the heart of town is easy walking distance to everything. The kitchen is a great place to hang out and meet other travelers. In fact, not only did we cook a few meals ourselves but we stayed up into the wee hours of the morning chatting with other visitors. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any of my friends!
Just a couple of things to warn people if they are picky ( we are not and especially for the price you pay and the helpfulness from Roberta)... our room smelled like cigarettes, there was only one bathroom for several people so there can be a line at times, and the walls are thin.
Great service! We also stayed at The Bee-hive in Rome which was also fantastic and highly recommended.
Dominique on Jan 2013:

The owner - Roberta was lovely. She really wanted us to feel welcome and we did. There were a few students from other countries studying in Florence staying there too so we got plenty of local information from them. The location is great - so easy for the train and bus stations and then a short walk into the center of town. Very comfortable and I would stay there again.
Cross-Pollinate are great - the descriptions are accurate and they are very responsive to questions.
Damian on Jan 2013:
Roberta (owner) and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. it's a great location close to station and only 10 min walk to centre of town and great value given you can cook meals if you wish.
Laura on May 2011:

Casa Corsi was blocks away from the train station and easy to find. Huge plus for us Americans with little Italian. The owner could not have been nicer or more friendly. The accommodations were warm and cozy but not small. We spent one evening eating on the patio enjoying their flowers and the lovely atmosphere. It's been a year and a half since our trip and we still talk about how wonderful our stay was in Florence.
can't think of a thing
Easy and accurate about the accommodations
Shane on Nov 2012:

Ease of getting to the apartment from train station, adequate facilities for self catering, complimentary web access, security
Signage from the outside of the apartment. It was not the most obvious.
Reliable and consistent; very good experience overall
Tanya on May 2011:

Our host was very nice and made us feel at home. Had a small garden area in the back of the house and we were able to relax there as well.
Really appreciated working with Cross-Pollinate in setting up lodgings in Venice, Florence and Rome. Will use them again.
Earl on Dec 2012:

The establisment was close to the rail station and places to eat. Also centraly located from most of the sites in the city. You had full access to the kitchen and the staff was the best you could ever ask for. Very quite and dark, no road noise, so resting from your day out and about was very peacful. Will gladly stay there again if I am ever to stay in Fireniza Italy again. In fact we stayed there rwo more days than planned. Great place to day trip to Piza from.
Cross-Pollinate is a nice place and helpful, as we were mostly free lancing our trip. They were a big help in finding places for us to stay, in those cities, where we were visiting.
Kurt on May 2011:
Wonderful value in the centro pieno. Clean if a trifle austere rooms, shared bathroom (nice), shared kitchen (just like home), a use of a beautiful little courtyard and a wonderful and friendly proprietress, Roberta. All at a most reasonable cost. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Firenze.
