Relais Florence Guesthouse

Located a quick walk from Santa Maria Novella train station, and about a 10 minute walk into the heart of the center, the Relais Florence Guesthouse is a six-room residence all on one floor with a little reception and common area. It's basic accommodations at a good price and the owners, Piero and Marcella give a good tour at check of Florence, showing you where everything is, recommending good, local restaurants that aren't too touristy. They live on one side of the apartment and the guestrooms are on the other side (there are two separate entrances and the spaces are divided) so they are nearby and available to give advice. Each guestroom has private ensuite bathroom, TV, phone, hair dryer, and mini-bar. They can offer an additional service of reserving tickets for museums and galleries (highly recommended for the Uffizi and Accademia, to avoid hours of waiting in line).

For those who need internet access, they often have wifi but it's unreliable so they don't want to offer it and then disappoint people. Nearby there are many internet cafes.
