Apartamento Los Wiwoos is a bright, colorful apartment located on the ground floor of a residential building in a neighborhood called Clot, close to Gaudí's Sagrada Familia (10-15 minutes walking) and the Modernist building Hospital de Sant Pau. The apartment is large (65 square meters), with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and can sleep up to 6 people.
The rooms are all painted in vivid colors, the ceilings are high, and the living room in particular gets a lot of natural light as the side of it facing to the street is all frosted glass. The master bedroom has its own bathroom (with shower) in the room, a double bed, air-conditioner, access to the terrace, and there is also the possibility of adding an extra foldout bed or baby crib. The other bedroom is a little smaller, with a double bed, and there is another full bathroom in the halway. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals and there is a dining table that seats 6 in the living room area. The living room also has a sofa that turns into a double sofabed, a TV, DVD player, CD player, and air-conditioning. The apartment also has WiFi and a washing machine.
There is a spacious private terrace (16 square meters) equipped with table, chairs, and umbrella so you can eat meals outside or relax with a glass of wine and a book. The terrace is in the inner courtyard of the building so there's no view, but it does get natural light.
The neighborhood is residential, off the VERY well-beaten tourist track of central Barcelona, but still very close to the center of the city and very easy to get around using the metro, which is just a few blocks away. It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the Old City, to be able to come home and sleep soundly without much street noise, or relax at a cafe in the morning. It's right on the edge of a pleasant pedestrian street with benches, trees, shops, and lots of restaurants and cafes.
The apartment owners, Simone, an Italian who has lived in Barcelona for years, and his Spanish wife Sandra, are very welcoming and helpful, and between the two of them they speak several different languages.
