The Passeig de Gràcia apartments are seven apartments all located in the same building, owned by the same person. Manel has four "suite apartments" that are basically identical, as well as three other slightly different apartments, the Passeig de Gràcia Residence, the Passeig de Gràcia Terrace, and the Passeig de Gràcia Penthouse.
The Passeig de Gràcia Terrace 42 is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom apartment that can sleep up to 6 people. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed, and in the living room there is a queen-sized fold-out sofabed. It's beautifully renovated with parquet flooring and brand-new bathrooms and kitchens -- so it both IS and LOOKS sparkling clean! The apartment is furnished and decorated in a tasteful, modern 'minimalist' style. The living room is particularly sunny and bright, as that's the room that opens up onto the terrace.
The terrace is not huge, but it's still big enough to fit a table and chairs, plus a sundeck-type lounger and a few more chairs, and still have room to spare! Plenty of space to enjoy meals outside, have your coffee in the morning and let the sunshine wake you up naturally, enjoy a glass of wine in the evening after a long day, or just lounge around reading or sunbathing. The terrace overlooks the nearby rooftops. This is definitely a perfect 'summer apartment' -- though of course the terrace is enjoyable on any nice day at any time of the year (and Barcelona can be quite sunny and pleasant even in the winter!).
The apartment is equipped with pretty much all the modern amenities you could think of to make your stay comfortable: air-conditioning, WiFi, double-glazed windows (so it stays quiet inside), flatscreen TV with DVD player, CD player, mini-safe, iron, hair dryer, and washer/dryer. Even the kitchen is decked out with everything you could need to make basic meals, like microwave, toaster, electric kettle, American coffee machine, and a dishwasher. For families traveling with small children, the owner also offers the use of a crib and a highchair for free (upon request).
The Terrace apartment is located on the 4th floor of the building (with a modern elevator). The building, which is rather small, has Manel's seven "Passeig de Gràcia" vacation apartments, as well as a few other apartments that are still residential. Manel's office, where he works all day handling reservations and managing the apartments, is on the first floor of the building, which has a beautiful, fairy tale-like Modernist façade.
It's located right on the Passeig de Gràcia, one of Barcelona's most important streets, close to Gaudí's famous Casa Milà (locally called 'La Pedrera', which means 'the stone quarry'), a UNESCO World Heritage site -- a trip up to walk around the maze-like rooftop and see the 'stone warriors' up close is a must (it will remind you of an MC Escher painting)! It's also close to the metro (just 2 blocks from the Diagonal stop), making it very easy to get around the rest of the city from there.
